Use your recovery disc that came with your computer to restart windows. or if you have a windows xp program disc this will give the option to do a repair or reload computer with a fresh copy of windows.

You may have a RAM problem. Try reseating the RAM modules, if this does not fix your problem, remove the RAM modules and take then to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.
well i think its a virus, check your antivirus if its still active but nevertheless my friend u will have to restore your system back to factory settings because some patch files are already missing. so back up your important documents and then restore back to factory mode.
what is happening is it is hibernating not shutting down, open up acer empowering technology and go to the power settings or click on the battery icon in taskbar and click power options, then there will be instructions that say when i turn off; power off and not hibernate as probably selected.
