Question about Tomtom GO 700 GPS Receiver
I have had my 720 for a few weeks now, and yesterday it froze with the screen showing my tomtom. I have tried to reset it but nothing happens. I sometimes get the screen i described earlier with a red cross to stop me removing the device, but nothing happens.. any suggestions??
Got me I just installed the software on mine today and have yet to see anything but the blank tom tom on my screen

I get the same happening. I have done a reset with the button on the bottom of the device and still can get my CPU to recognize the device is connected. Downloaded latest version of TomTom home and still will not recognize. The unit is recognizing that I am connecting it to the USB port since the charge light is turning on when connected. I spoke with TomTom Tech support today. They informed me that since my product was more than a year old, there was nothing further they could do. What a crock, it not like this is a cheap product. Cost me over $400.00. I would have expected better support and a much longer warranty period. Specially if it is such an obvious failure of the product itself and not any external reason for it not working properly. I'm truly disappointed and if I don't get any real help from TomTom I will never purchase any of their products ever again.
my solution for you is to take advantage of your warrant. If all other options are exhausted and the problem persists they will have to replace your non functioning device.

You can reset to factory default. This will delete all your user data and will turn to out of box state.
This option will be available when you choose the "Show All Menu Options"
If you need more info check the user manual.
