The newest driver available for your graphics card is designed for Windows Vista, but it should work with Windows 7. That does not necessarily mean that it will. I have included a link to download the driver below.

Geforce fx5500

No, it won't. HP's specifications page for the motherboard show it has a PCI-E slot for a video card, and the FX5500 is an AGP card. The connectors are different and you won't be able to install it. You'll need to shop for a PCI-E video card.

Problem installation video card

Hello Virna, i have that exact graphics card and dell GX270 desktop here at home, tho it has been awhile since i removed the Nvidia PCI card for a more favorable AGP card. From what i remember, first check your BIOS (hit F2 on startup) and select integrated devices, scroll down and make sure your default video output is either PCI (if available) or AUTO) exit saving changes. If that yields no result. Plug in a second monitor to your old integrated video output, if you can view windows after bootup from there, then you can install the proper Nvidia display driver for windows Xp (available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html ). After installing, right click on the desktop, select properties, display settings tab, and make sure the Geforce card is the main monitor and the desktop monitor. Click apply, unplug the integrated VGA output, and restart. Hope this helps.

Nvida geforce fx5500 256 agp compatible with intel d865gbf ?

Yes, they should be compatible. The Intel d865gbf has an AGP port that supports AGP 4x/8x, and so does the FX5500. You should be fine.

Geforce fx5500

From your post, it seems like Windows is booting correctly, but your card isn't correctly displaying the signal once the machine tries to load into your user profile.

Go into Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers for the card. Go back to the beginning of the installation process and follow it step-by-step. If this does not help, try inserting the card first, and then installing the drivers afterwards.

Geforce fx5500

timber710,
Please remove the geforce fx5500 video card. Blow out the AGP slot with some canned air. Re-seat the video card & make sure you install it with even pressure (front to back) with slight rocking motion untill the card is completly seated. Try running the system again. ( I'm thinking the card was not completly seated).

If your system freezes again re-set your cmos / bios. In your user manual pg. 2.
Boot to the bios & re-setup all your settings. Save & exit.
If your PC still freezes, try another AGP card because the 5500 seem to be defective.

So hate giving out bad news........
Luck timber710
