Mp3 Files not shown on file list

I have copied some 50 new mp3's to my daughter's Sansa. When I access the music file, I cannot see these new file sanywhere. However, when I plug the device to my PC, the appropriate My Computer window shows they're actually there. The device property menu also reads "190 music files", but only about 140 are playable.
How do I make "hidden" files visible AND playable?

Re: mp3 Files not shown on file list

Hello, i had this problem as well. I deleted the files and ran an MP3 convertor program. For some reason, not all MP3 files appear to be compatible with the Sansa. Try downloading Switch from which is freeware and is a very small and useful program. I tried this with invisible tracks and tracks that appear as "bad track" as well.

Hope this helps.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :-

I have a new Macbook Pro. How do I download Mp3 files to my Sansa clip Mp3 Player?

  1. The Sansa Clip will only play digital files that are in the MP3 format.
  2. Anything you "drag" to the Clip must be dragged to the MUSIC folder of the Clip drive represented on your desktop.
So, first make sure your CD "audio files" are in the MP3 format (iTunes can convert them, if not). And second, make sure you locate the MUSIC folder on the Clip drive as your destination.
Getting Songs onto the Clip
This is just a matter of copying files.

1) Plug the Clip into your USB
2) Copy song files (in the format the Clip accepts, see Clip manual) from your source to the MUSIC folder of the Clip drive.

NOTE (applies only to older versions of firmware): Copying files to the Clip on a Mac created extra files on the Clip and you would see them on the Clip display. If you are using an earlier firmware, you need something like the application, KopyMac to prevent this during copying. With the latest version of the firmware, this problem is eliminated.

FYI, if you keep your song files in the Artist:Album:song folder hierarchy on your source drive, you can copy the Artist folder to the Clip MUSIC folder and the hierarchy will be available through the Clip Music menu.

Loading music from sansa

iTunes uses AAC copies of music files. The Sansa Clip needs the files in WMA or MP3 format. You need to find a free audio converter online and convert the songs you want to MP3 or WMA format. Many programs will create a converted copy while still retaining the original AAC copy.

Unknown mp3 files

mine does that all of the time, you simply have to delete them and put them on again. If you put the files in a "new" folder in the music folder it seems to keep them from becoming corrupted, I would also put the player in MSC mode and do a checkdisk.

WAV files don't playback and show as "BadTracks"

well, probably because where you downloaded it from, the website had an error. To put music on, just go on MY COMPUTER, find your sansa mp3 in it, go to your music, copy a song, go back to the sansa list and hit paste.

Sansa player says no music but there is

It is probably because the files are not .mp3 or .wma format files. This player is not compatible with itunes's .m4a files.

I don't know how to load music from the internet to my new mp3

the best way for that is to read your manual.

Windows XP SP1
Windows Media Player 10
Intel1.gif Pentium class PC or higher
CD-ROM drive
USB 2.0 port required for hi-speed transfer
Connect to your Computer
1. Connect the small USB Cable Connector to the USB port on your computer, and then plug the larger
Cable Dock Connector in to your Sansa c200 port.
2. Once connected to computer, it should be detected by the operating system automatically and is
shown as an additional drive called “Sansa c200”.
You will need to use Sansa Media Converter to transfer photos to your Sansa c200. Insert your SanDisk
CD and select Sansa Media Converter to install it to your PC. Then you can load your personal photos
onto your Sansa c200 by using Sansa Media Converter.

To transfer music to your Sansa c200:
1. Connect Sansa c200 to the computer.
2. Drag and drop files from your computer to Sansa c200 by using a variety of music software
programs to transfer/synchronize your files.
3. In MTP mode as long as the files are WMA or MP3, they can be dragged into the Media folder.
Otherwise, they can be dragged into the Data1.gif folder (these files will not appear on the player).
4. In MSC mode, files/folders can be dragged/copied to the device.
