I have an RCA D52W20 with chassis ATC 221 that no longer works. When plugged in, the green power light blinks twice and then goes out. When the power button is pushed the light blinks twice, then about 4 seconds later it blinks twice again, then about 4 seconds later it blinks twice again and then it stops blinking. Once this cycle is complete, it won't light up at all until unplugged from power for a few minutes and then plugged back in. Any idea what might be wrong with it ?

The tv is going into protection shutdown. It will try to power up three times, but each time it tries, the microprocessor recognizes an overvoltage, or overcurrent draw, and after three attempts it will place the unit into protection shutdown. There can be many causes of this, but the most likely one is that there is a short circuit in the high voltage circuits. You probably have a shorted flyback and associated components.

What are the associated components. I also have the same problem and it blows the horizontal output transistor. I checked the flyback solder joints and they seem ok. Should I reflow the joints? Any help would be great. Thank You.

Liz, yes it is a power supply problem, better question is; low voltage or high voltage power supply ? count the blink code, it should repeat the code, once you have the code call your local tv shops and give them the model number of your tv and the blink amount and they`ll tell you price to fix, gl, video-tek

that chassis has been plagued by bad capacitors on the deflection board .especially CP150 and CP114. I would suggest visibly inspecting the tops of the capacitors in the same area as those two and see if the tops look domed if so replace those capacitors. If the caps dont appear domed let me know and I will try to assist you with it.

Check the ribbon cable connections between the boards to insure they are correctly seated as a 19 code usually means
Chassis detection, which means its not detecting a valid chassis usally the ribbon connections are the cause of that.
