Kdl-55ex620 red light blinks 3 times

Hi,
Unplug your TV from the AC power. Press and hold the power button on the TV itself for about 10 seconds and then release. After another minute, plug the TV back in and press power once.
If the blinking is still occurring then this unfortunately indicates a failure within the TV and will require a service. If all OK then happy viewing!

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
?
?Check the cables, connectors and connections.
?
Take it to a repair shop.

I see someone else has had a similar problem(Jun 15,2010), but no solution posted yet. I have a monster surge protector. It worked the first night that we lost power. I reset it and everything was fine....

Unplug the tv and the cable box about an hour, replug both devices back in.The cable box will reboot itself and upgrade it softwares. The tv should have signal again and work.

Most likely a capacitor in the power supply went out. otherwise it may be a bad relay if there happens to be one.
Most reason for a tv not turning on at all is bad power supply

Plasma TV - intermittent blinking

Power supply failure. Either a capacitor went bad, or there is a loose solder joint near the big transformer on the power board. I would guess loose solder connection.
