Lens does not fully extract when turning on power. Therefore, the picture viewer shows only a blurred picture of what is in front of the lens.
Pressing the shutter button halfway in, does not help getting the picture any clearer. Thanks for anything that could help.
Your lens track is the problem, if you could open your camera check the lens gear if its teeth are complete. If so check if something stucks on it. Its much better to bring your camera to an authorized service center to re timing your lens track... ^_^

Could be several reasons. The front lens is dirty. That can be cleaned with a lens pen. Or a soft cloth, the same as you should use for your glasses. It could be there is mould in the lens system. You can see this when looking into the lens, passed the front lens. That can't be fixed, without replacing the whole lens. And when the camera is dropped on the lens, it could be the elements are not aligned anymore. Same as with mould, only an expensive repair could cure that. I hope you did not try to clean the front lens with any fluid like alcohol, because that is irreparable to.
Hi there the camera lens guide pin is damaged after drop down. Thats why you get a noise for focusing the lens but it did't focus. After that the result is blur image. You must change the guide pin from service center. After that it will work start properly. Thanks.
I have the similar problem, I turn on the camera and after the lens comes out , red light blink all this time, and suddenly it powers down without retracting the lens back in.
The battery are fully charged AA 2400mah / 2650mah Duracell at 4.0 ma with load test. I was wondering if there is any circuitry problem.? Any experts in digital camera electronics please respond?
To bring back the lens back in for safekeeping i trik this, i turn it on while it is reading the memory etc and after a sec or two i turn the knob to off, this way lens goes back inside.
I have read other brands also have their cameras lens sticking out and never going back inside.
Lens error is usually caused by mechanical faults concerning lens assembly. The lens cannot extend or retract fully, the error is detected and lens error is returned. Sometimes this can be fixed playing with the lens during extraction or retraction to help the lens asset getting back to normal. More often the camera lens must be disassembled and re-assembled by a technician to fix the problem.
This is a very common issue with digital camera on either the lens gears have to be replaced or the lens barrel need replacing. it seems that the lense movement is jammed. Have you dropped the camera? just have a close look from the front side of the camera, does the lense assembly seems to be pressed or moved aside by some extra preassure? if no physical disalingment is visible may be some sand or dust partical is obstructing the movement of the lense assambly. needs a help from camera repair shop.
