Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver

1 Answer

Signal is fine, but service goes away after ten minutes.

When I turn on car I have no problem with my signal and I am able to hear channels. However, after approximately ten minutes, I cannot hear channel even though signal is still showing to be at maximum. This has been going on for quite awhile. However, when I travel to the mountains it appears to clear up. Any suggestions?

The screen displays the station information but no music just static while in use in the car using the fm modulation.  When using the cassette it works fine.  While I am using it in the home dock it frequently cuts out.  I often take the radio from its home dock to the car but this has not been a problem until recently especially in the home dock.  The weather here in milwaukee has been blizzard like conditions.  Could this interfere with the signal?  In the car i just use the cassette option at home i annoyingly need to take on and off the radio from it's dock with mixed result.

Try using a different frequency for the fm modulator, let me know how this works, and maybe we can come up with a better solution!

Intermittent turn signal problem 2005 malibu

Check that the fuse for the turn signal is not loose. Sometime a firm push inside is needed. If that doesn't work replace the fuse. If it is still loose then take a narrow pice of wire and insert it in with the fuse to keep if from being loose.

The problem could also be at your turn signal stalk. Turn of the turn signal and then move the turn signal stalk in different directions and hold it. You are trying to see where the intermittent problem goes away. If it doesn't , then the stalk is fine.

DBX586 signal goes away then returns then goes away etc.

A transistor junction in an IC is going bad. You will need an oscilloscope and schematic to find it. (or service tech)

Recieving problems

turn the RF gain all the way up and leave it there. Also turn the squelch down until you hear white noise, then turn it up just until it goes away.

RF gain is how sensitive your receive is. The higher it is, the more range you have. There really is no need to turn it down ever, unless you are trying to not hear some one out in the distance. Normal operation, RF gain should be all the way up.

Now squelch is used to quiet non signal noise. Like white noise or interference noise, Or other radios with a really weak signal that you can't hear completely any way.

You just want it so it just quiets the fuzz noise. Depending on background interference and the amount of radio traffic, the may have to be adjusted to silence the noise you don't want to hear. When a strong audio signal is received, it will break the squelch, the higher the squelch is set, the stronger the signal needs to be to break it, otherwise it will silence it.

Humm coming from speakers - can't get cable to work

The RF input is the correct one for a cable signal. The other sources use the RCA and other ports which you can connect to other devices, like DVD or VCR players.

If the humm noise only happens when you're on the TV channel then it's likely just the station. Try changing the channel and see if that helps, and make sure the coax is screwed in all the way. Also make sure the other end, if connected to a VCR or other stuff, is tightly attached. If you share cable with many other people and the signal has snow (white spots on the TV), then you may need to buy an RF signal amplifier to reduce the noise.

Source changes the input (RCA versus coaxial versus component inputs), change the channel for different channels..
