I have a GE side by side model #SSS25KFMC WW and my issue is that when the water is dispensed into the tray it is also leaking water into the holding tray so everytime it makes ice the next time it pours the water some of it is coming into the holding tray causing the ice to become frozen into the tray. Is there something that I should be looking at specifically to locate the problem????????

Re: ice maker problem
Try turning down your water inlet pressure go about half way and play with it from there also check the tube going to the icemaker to put water in the maker make sure it is all the way into the ice maker

Kenmore model numbers look like this example=> 321.1234578 Are you sure that the water in the ice maker is melting and flowing down into the ice bin? What may be happening is the water control valve for the ice maker may be allowing water to continue flowing into the ice maker tray even when off due to the water control valve being defective. If your refrigerator also has a water dispenser and the water is not continuing to leak is because the water control valve has to sides. One side is for the ice maker and the other side is for the water dispenser. I am here if you have questions, ThanksSea Breeze
The water supply in the recessed part of your door is frozen. very common with this model. You will need to turn unit off and with freezer door open use hairdryer on the area where water dispenses and on the recessed area as well. This is time consuming but only other remedy is to leave off and door open for 24 hours. hope this helps.
when you dispense ice or water, you are allowing the drip tray to overfill and the water builds underneath the tray until the water reaches the point were it will leak down the front of the door. the water will rust the panel beyond repair. you will have to replace the whole door at this point. hope this helps.
there is a screw in the ice maker unit that can adjust the water level open the ice maker whit cover and you should see it but turn it gently little by little each time...and see how much you getting :) very EZ good luck
this may be water from the defrost cycle. if this drains to tray over compressor, check tray is not too full (water evaporates from heat of compressor) otherwise defrost water will go to a seperate container which may have a split or is overflowing. fault can also be caused by poor door seals which would produce too much ice on evaporator pipes
