Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
MY C6180 PRINTS A GREAT TEST PAGE HOWEVER WHEN I DO NORMAL PRINTING THE BLACK BECOMES STREAKED AND FADED AFTER THE 1ST PAGE. I SPOKE WITH HP AS IT IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE VOIDED MY WARRANTY SINCE I USED COMPATIBLE CARTRIDGES AND CLOGGED THE PRINTHEAD. I DON'T SEE HOW THE PRINTHEAD CAN BE CLOGGED FOR ONE PAGE AND NOT ANOTHER. THIS SEEMS MORE LIKE A COMPONENT MALFUNCTION TO ME...ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I own a Cartridge World (in you don't know what we are find one near you, www.cartridgeworldusa.com) and can tell you that HP or any other manufacturer cannot void your warranty bc you didnt use an original HP cartridge (its like Chevy voiding your car warranty because you used quaker instead of mobil oil) its called a restriction of trade and is illegal in any industry. One other way around it is to just tell them that u are using HP inks...that way is easier then explaining to some tech in another company that they can't legally cancel your warranty just because you didn't send an arm and a leg to HP so you can print your pictures out... Here's a few quotes from an article I have on the myths of refills voiding warranties...
"If refilling a cartridge damages the printer, then we may decline to fix specific printer damage that is caused by the refilled cartridges..... But it's not true that we do not honor warranties for people who refilled their cartridges."
(Alison Graves, HP Employee)
"Furthermore, some printer companies have led consumers to believe that using refill kits will void printer warranties, but Hewlett-Packard, Epson, and other vendors with whom we spoke say that simply isn't true. A company may legally charge for any printer repairs caused by a leaky refilled cartridge, but it must honor the warranty for other types of repairs."
