When I tap my phone or even put it down a little harder than normal it shuts off and then comes back up a few second later. I have never broken it so I am not sure why it is doing this. It is becoming very annoying. If I handle it even a little rough it goes dead. Not sure if it is a battery thing or ??

I had this problem with a android phone myself unfortunately you may have to get another one. but try this out. hold down the up volume and power but until the phone shuts off, that should put the phone in super user mode. once it goes in reset mode ( you'll know because there will be a little android on the screen. Then just power off by holding down the power button again and let the phone come back on.
1.take out your battery and check whether it is bulged or not..if yes replace your battery 2.switch off it for 24 hour and try switching on again..if the s40 interface has come reset it immediately to make sure no malicious programs are in there. 3.if you could do the second step..please update your phone
what has happend is that the phone has detected a virus, like if you have ever used the wire that came in the box to connect to your computer to charge or to create mass storage and the computer has an undetected virus that can get into the phone via the wire, so what i recomend you do is that you scan your computer for undetected viruses, and also restore factory settings on your phone turn it of for 30 seconds turn it on and try again, if this does not work contact your service provider or LG themselves and treat the situation from there.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the only thing i would say try is taking the battery out for about 30 seconds. putting it back in and trying again. if it does not turn on then i'm afraid the phone will not come back. It's a somewhat rare problem but does happen.
Unfortunately all information is gone unless you had downloaded backup assistant.
take the battery out then try again. If the battery isn't totally dead try turning the phone on and then plugging it in. It's happened to me before and sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to work but it should come on eventually.
