Re: faded and out of focus picture

Your TV has a burnt CRT base socket. Replace that, it is not a tough job, but make sure that you get the exact same type of base socket.

Sony Trinitron screen flashing

The picture tube is starting to fail. The increased screen voltage allows it to stabilize at the expense of color quality. Sorry to say, but it is time for a replacement.

1999 sony trinitron color tv -no picture-no sound.

Hello c_car,

What is happening is that the Shutdown Circuit is turning the TV off due to excessive current flow. The excessive current flow is most likely the result of a problem in the HV (High Voltage) section of your TV. This could mean that the Horizontal Output Transistor or the Integrated High Voltage Transformer has malfunctioned (developed a short circuit). I would advise that you let a qualified TV technician work on the set due to the nature of this problem.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Blurry picture

Ok, if you require Fly back Transformer for your Toshiba TV, its available in Part Store.
Static noise and focus issues are related to fly back.

Tv shuts off

When you let it sit for approx. 15 minutes it will come back on and usually stay on. I've also noticed that the color will fade in and out at times. during 15 mts of your sitting do you get sound & less brightness then problem in video or luminance section. if picture is dim & color will fade in and out at times then possibility of crt is getting less voltage on g2. if set is old then there is a possibility of crt getting weak. but if the above things are not there then problem in power supply. good luck

Sony TV with blurry picture

blurry picture is mainly due to focusing voltage is not proper. solution 1 check & adjust focus control on flyback. 2 check crt base for loose. 3 wire going to focus control on crt base got disconnected due to foreign materials deposit on it. 4 if tv is old possibility of crt getting weak.

Dark screen/picture.

This 30" flat screen TV set may have a problem in the high voltage circuit of the TV set. You may be able to adjust this by taking off the back of the TV set. Look for the block where the large red wire runs up to the top of the picture tube. On this block will be two controls. one will say screen and one will say focus. Try and slowly turn the control that says screen or S on it clockwise and see if you can make the picture brighter. Turn up the control till you just start to see faint lines in the picture, then back the control down till the lines go away. If the picture does not come up when you turn this up, and all you get is a blank screen, you will need to have this set repaired by a qualified repair person. Good Luck

Color fades in and out of picture

The first thing I would check is the antenna or cable connection into the set. When an analog TV signal is weak, the first thing to go is the color, then the picture, then the sound. If you have another TV, connect it to the very same cable or antenna connection and see if it fails the same way, too. Make sure you just disconnect the cable end right where it goes into the failing TV and connect it to the other TV - don't disconnect the antenna cable from the wall for this check. If the second set does not fail, gently pull on the antenna wire - not too hard, you just want to put a little tension on it to see if it makes the color cut out. Reconnect the first one and try again. If it's fine now, the connection was loose. If not, it has a tuner problem that must be repaired. Also, when you look at the end of a TV connector, the center wire should stick out just a little bit, like in the attached photo. If it doesn't stick out as bit, it won't make good contact, and will result in a weak signal. I appreciate your rating if you find this helpful.
