My I9900 is not printing

The light is constantly flashing from green to orange and there is no window that indicate the problem. I tried to print a PDF file and habitually there is no problem. I am on a Mac G5.

Re: My I9900 is not printing

Mine does the same thing and I've been trying for months to fix it...will not print. I reccommend switching to Epson...better quality prints anyway!

Continuous orange light, how to fix/ turn on the printer ?

The constant orange light is the standby indicator. Do you have the correct driver for this model? Did you select the correct printer from the list of printing devices.

In Windows, often after installing a printer driver and software you'll notice more than one printer installed. But only one has a green check mark beside it (set as default device). If that is the one you want to use, then when printing make sure you select it. If you select another and it isn't set as the default device it won't print until it is set as the new default.

Generally from Windows if you're going to need to print something, after clicking the, "Print", button from the program you want to print from, it will open the print dialogue. Make sure the default active printer is set. Most printers come with software to access other functions. Some functions include status query and a cleaning print head option as well as print sample image/text.

For Mac's a similar procedure only there is no option to select from a variety of printers. If there is a printer installed, Mac's will try to send to that device only.

hi guys,
Flash in orange 5 times indicates that the printhead is faulty so that the printer cannot detect the printhead. Rarely, faulty logic board and carriage unit may cause the same problem.

I have a cannon i9900, it has always worked perfectly. For the past week I can not print anything. I reinstalled software today still down, I see one green light followed by 5 yellow flashes (keeps...

Dear Bill,
Flashing 5 times in orange indicates that print head error occurs so it cannot be detected properly by the printer. To make it sure, install a good print head in the printer. Is the problem fixed?. If the problem still persist, carriage part may be faulty. Overall, the print head is the most faulty part in this case. So, you need to replace the print head with new one.
