Question about Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital PCI Sound
I upgraded to windows vista 64 bit and theres no support drivers for soundblaster live! 5.1 soundcards!!! Its incredible! If there is a product available why not produce the drivers for them ? I cant upgrade to a newer soundcard now, the rest of the upgrade cost me a bomb....and in most developing countries like India, where I live, most people, if they use a soundcard at all, use live! 5.1, which is the cheapest solution. In fact, the rest of them are scarcely available here....I asked for audigy last year when I got this one, and there wasnt any available....
No hope for me I guess till I spend more cash on an audigy i guess, but this is very irritatating....I got atleast 1500 people here i met on the net in countries such as us who face my problem...in fact, just getting vista drivers for us is hard enough...
My fault....? this card was produced three years back....so?? I did spend money on it...and now its gone down the drain....
please just get us drivers for this....a lot of people who aint that rich need it...and need it bad.
So. I have a driver for Windows Vista 64 bit from windows update. Driver is version 188.8.131.521. In device manager identified as Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM).
Stereo mode sound si quite bad, but if you switch to 4 speakers system, (and disable surround speakers) then sound is acceptable.

I wish I could be of more help to you, however, it isn't very likely that anyone will be able to help as Windows 64-Bit doesn't have much support yet, it's still relatively new, and relatively expensive. Vista, also is an issue with it's poor support. I know your pain however, I have a 64-bit Processor, and used Windows XP64 Trial on my system... I trashed that shortly after installing it as even I couldn't find drivers for 90% of my system. Even Intel (the actual company) has issues with Microsoft Windows 64-bit, they were supposed to be able to develop drivers before the release, but it didn't happen. Microsoft released 64-bit versions of Windows and Vista too quickly for most companies to develop drivers and patches. My Apologies.
