Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Unable to charge MP3 player other than thru usb

My Creative Labs Zen Vision M will only charge via the usb cable attached to the computer. I used to be able to charge it through a wall plug. That no longer works. I purchased a new sync adapter thinking maybe that was the problem. It wasn't. It also will not run on an AC adapter

Creative Zen won't charge or be regonized by my computer.

I have a Zen Vision: M and often have the same problem if it is completely discharged and not used for a couple of weeks.
When I plug it into my laptop I get a message saying 'This USB device has malfunctioned and is not recognized" (or something like that) and the unit will not power on. However, if I leave it attached for about an hour it eventually comes to life.

Do you have a wall charger, or do you only charge bu USB from your PC?

My advice would be:
- Attach it via USB to your PC
- Leave is for 1-2 hours and (hopefully) is should come back to life.

If not, try a different USB cable - I used to use the standard USB cable that came with my Zen Vision: M to charge (and sync) with my PC, but recently my PC does not recognize the device when using this, so I switched to a different USB cable (the one that came with my Sony Ericsson phone) and now it works first time, every time.

Really i don't know what the problem is. the creative doesn't charge and when it charges don't do anything

the player seems to need longer charging:
1. while player switched OFF: let it load on ac-adapter or USB-connection**** for about 1 hour, until the screen lights up.
2. still while player switched OFF: let it load another 2 to 3 hours
to get it fully charged.

**** notice: when using USB for charging:
1. Install the application software (from CD or Creative-download)
2. Preferred is a USB-connection at the backside of the computer
3. When more USB-connections are used, have the others disconnected: trying not to overload the USB-port power-consumption.

If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Creative Zen Vision M - unable to connect to ANY PC or Xbox

How to make Creative vision m, find the computer.

Connect your creative with U. S. B. cable.
Go to my computer, click on right button on mouse go to properties, click on hardware tab, click on device manager button , scrawled to creative logo press on right button on mouse and press on update drives. This worked for me on both of my computers now I can charge my creative and transfer of the files to it with no problems.

Good luck.

Have you only been attempting using a USB port to charge it? I just fixed my problem. I have a wall charger from the Creative Zen Touch that worked perfect on it when the USB didn't do a thing. Usually I'm able to charge it with my RAZR phone charger in the wall but that didn't work and neither did my computer charger via USB but I tried the old wall charger and it seemed to do the trick. If you don't have one, they have them on amazon, here is the link: or for the old one that I have: Hope this helps!
