Question about Acer N300 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Booting problems Hi, I have a problem starting my n300. I accidentally filled the onboard memory to the max and now the darn thing won't start. It will go as far as the bootscreen (with the pda scetch) but will lock itself after that. Any solutions? as it being a real hustle sending it back. (I live in sweden).

Re: Booting problems

I have the same problem with the device, mine is a N311, the problem always hapenes if I turn of the cradle while the device is on it. Nothing can help solving the problem other than taking the device out, put it on the USB key without the battery, perform a hard reset and then put the battery in. Of course, you loose all your settings and intalled applications It sucks,.

Connect for email and internet surfing

As far as I know, some N300 series PDAs have a built-in Wi-Fi card. If this is your case, gather your Wi-Fi router's (or the one you want to connect your PDA to) SSID and encryption informations, go to 'Start > Settings > Connections tab > Wi-Fi' and tap 'Search for Networks'. After a while, the available WLAN should appear on screen. Select yours, fill in the required informations, and, after a while it should get connected. Otherwise (i.e., if your PDA is not Wi-Fi enabled), you will still be able to connect to the internet whenever it is connected to your PC (which should be on-line, of course).
Anyway, if you happens to miss your device's user guide, feel free to download it from this location.
Just my 2 cents...
Regards, Carlos

Micro card

When I bought the phone I wanted to use a bigger Memory card. I was told it will only recognize 2gb. The booklet that comes with phone says the same thing, so would assume that is why it says full. Assuming of course youre trying to use more than 2gb at the moment.

I turned my HTC Touch on today, and all my photos and notes were gone. Here are a few things to consider: -I think I just store the pictures on my phone rather than a memory card -I dropped my phone...

Firstly, start using the memory card to store stuff on as its the safest place, even if the phone resets, blows up, gets run over, chances are the memory card will survive. Also you have a second chance on a memory card, if you do delete something by accident as long as you dont write anything to it (and sometimes even if you do) things can be recovered with software.

Have you checked through the memory card in case you have been saving your stuff there anyway?

if you have any applications or customisations installed are they still there ok?

I would have a darn good look around with the explore function of active sync or install totalcmd ( and search for .jpg files (and whatever extension your notes use) to see if they are anywhere on the phone

Best of luck, I know its a nightmare when data goes walkabout.

Dell Axim X51 stop booting half way

I would first try downloading the A12 update again incase the first one was corrupt. Also reformat the memory card and start fresh.
Good luck

Acer n300 wont sync

you also have a connection manager on the PDA Itself ( Active sync ) Try syncing from the PDA as Well As The Computer Active Sync Program.
Also make sure if you have a firewall, you allow the PDA into it as a trusted Device.
Mike @ Compurepair.
1 more thing, try on/off the PDA whilst in sync mode.
Hope This Helps.

Help IrDA WOES!!

Check the PC connection setting on your EM-500 for IrDA connection. You will also have to change the speed settings to match that on the PC. You should have "IR activesynch" icon under start - programs -connections. Tap on this to connect through the IR port.
