Question about Maytag MAH6500 Neptune Front Loading Washer w/Built in Water Heater

Skipping throygh cycles

The washer is skipping through the cycle.
I replaced the timer, not the problem.
When the washer fills to a "normal level" ,it continues to spurt water.
At the end of the first cycle, it drains. Then skips threw the 1st - 3 cycles, no added water to rinse. Te clothes are fully dry like the went threw a normal cycle. If the washer is clogged, how do I reach the connection?

My washer skips the spin cycle sometimes i turn the dial to another spin cycle sometimes it works other times no

If you timer switch "skips" the spin cycle (passes through it faster than normal) then it is probably your timer switch.

Or it could be your transmission. The transmission is a two speed unit and the wash cycle is the slow speed and the spin cycle is the fast speed. So if the problem is only the spin cycle then it could be transmission problems. BUT since the transmission is normally a sealed unit on the newer machines you will have to replace the entire transmission instead of just the high speed gear.

Fill cycle stops before full

It's underfilling The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

GE SpaceMaker washing machine does not stop filling.

try replacing your water selenoid coming in. remember it isnt a mechanical timer it is a computerized timer, so if the selenoid isnt the problem, it might be the computerized timer. computers are very finicky, pain in the a- -!

Washer fills with water but does not advance to next cycle

If this is a rotary timer, nudge the timer slightly in it's normal direction of rotation. If the timer keeps going (it might hang up at the next point in the cycle, but nudge it again), I suspect the timer needs to be replaced. They get weak.

Washing machine fills in the water but does not start the wash cycle

The fact that it does not fill completely can be related to a problem with the water-level switch, that regulates the water level.

See from Repairclinic:
"This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch."

However, when it is only the switch the mashine usually completes the cycle, but with less water than normal.

A possibilty is that either the timer is faulty or there is a problem with the water supply.

Check that water is coming from water supply with regular pressure, and that hoses back there are not obstructed.

More likely you will have to replace the timer.

See again from Repairclinic:
"When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water."

  • You can find parts at the following websites, you need to input your model number. If the part is not listed contact them.

    Many thanks.

    Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
