HOW RESET INK RESERVE

I am assuming this has occurred because you have either refilled an original cartridge or bought after market cartridges that Canon does not recognize. Manufacturers don't like us doing that - after all, they sell us the printers at a loss and expect to get their money back with all the overpriced ink we will have to buy later on. That said, I was able to find this info on another site. I don't guarantee it will work. Read carefully, there are a few warnings in the procedure. Use at your own risk.

Try this:

1. Turn off the printer
2. Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click "Power") an indicator light green.
3. Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.
4. Not releasing the Power Button, double click "Resume" and release Both Buttons.
5. Click "Resume" for Four times
6. Once you click "Power", to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.

If that doesn't work, then try changing the printer setup as below.
Case 1) When the window of "Ink is running low" appears.
- Click the 'OK' or 'out of paper' button on your printer
- When the window of 'Ink has run out' appears, follow the procedures
'Case 2' below.
Case 2) When the window of "Ink has run out" appears.
- Click the 'Yes' button on the window.
- When the massage of "Press and hold the 'Stop/ Reset' button...."
appears, press and hold the 'Stop/ Reset' or 'out of paper' button
on your printer for 10 seconds.
Before using the printer, run the "head cleaning" process.
?? Warning: The level warning system of the refilled cartridge will be
deactivated permanently. Refill the cartridge only when the print quality
begins to deteriorate and the cartridge is actually out of ink.

Iv changed my ink cartridge and now it wont print it keeps saying ink cartridge has been changed

I just got mine working again. Solution: You have to disassemble your Printer. Take a close look at the small round motor inside. Their is a small toothed wheel attached to the shaft of the motor - mine was already lying inside the printer. This wheel hast to be replaced by a tighter fitting one or the original one has to be fixed to the shaft - I used glue, as i had no new wheel.

My Canon Mp190 Pixma printer refuse to print after I put new cartridges in. What can I do?

do you see any error message on LCD screen?

Sometime, if you put refilled cartridge, you may see some error such as E5 (cartridge is not readable)
If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

No print cartridges appears on screen when ink cartridge is in ...new ink cartridge is in. What's up?

I've owned this printer for several years, and I've not ever had a print cartridge symbol show up on the screen. It's just not part of the display.

I replaced an ink cartridge because the printer stopped working and showed a message that the old cartridge is empty. However after putting the new one in but the printer still refuses to work and shows...

maybe the cartridge is wrong, release it and clean the electrical contacts, put them again one by one, if notting happen, try this
Solution As the printer operates, it moves ink from the ink cartridges into a printhead reservoir. The printer does not deliver a message when an ink cartridge goes empty, because it still has ink in the reservoir. The printer continues printing until the ink level in the reservoir falls to a first trigger point - then a message appears advising the printer owner to Replace Cartridges Soon . At this point, other cartridges that are empty but have not reached the trigger point are also mentioned in the message, to save trips to the retailer. After the first trigger point, the printer can continue printing until ink levels in the reservoir reach a second trigger point. At the second trigger point there is only enough ink left to perform vital servicing tasks, and a new message appears, saying Ink Cartridges Empty . The options offered depend on the usable inks remaining. If no options are offered, the cartridges indicated must be replaced before printing can continue. The Ink Cartridges Empty options are described in the table below: Ink colors out Option Print mode possible All Cancel None Black

AND

Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all) Black only Continue with other colors Cyan/Magenta/Yellow mode (composite black)

Text and photo quality will differ from those printed when all colors are available Light Cyan or Light Magenta (either or both) Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all)

(Black still available) Print with black ink only Grayscale

IT WILL BE OUT THE WINDOW IN A MINATE RE ROGER dALTRY

If the ink cartridge is in place correctly then you may want to open the window and get ready to chuck it out. You can try reseating the cartridge again but I have a feeling the senseing mechanism is damaged or the electronics mainboard has problems. Depending on how the heads were cleaned and what replacment cartridges were used you may have a buildup of dried ink around the head. Some of this may be causing the incorrect ink cartridge error. You could try cleaning it with a paer towl soaked in vinegar. That disolves dried ink. It may dislodge the ink on the sensor arm that may be showing that the cartridge is missing. Past that I can't suggest any repair to try.

Unfortunetly inkjet printers are just not cost effective to repair even with minor parts. If this requires a new print head assembly or other parts that will cost more than just going out and buying a new printer. Having said that I would not replace it with a inkjet. You will be much happier with a laser printer even a cheap one. A color laser can be had for about $100 these days. While the toner cost may seem higher it works out much much cheaper than what a inkjet costs. The biggest bonus you will appreciate is no more cleaning cycles that seem to use up a new cartridge.

Re Canon 2600 printer.I recently purchased a black Ink cartridge and replaced the old one. A week later the color cartridge also shows empty even though I hardly use color. Can I not print in greyscale...

Hi,
Please follow the instructions below from Cannon support page...

Setting the Ink Cartridge When printing, you can specify which ink cartridge to use. This is convenient if one of the ink cartridges becomes empty, you can continue printing by specifying the ink cartridge that still has ink. Note:
  • When the following settings are configured, Black Only is disabled. The color ink cartridge is used to print.
  • A type of paper other than Plain Paper is selected for Media Type on the Main tab.
  • Borderless Printing is checked on the Page Setup tab.

You can set the Ink Cartridge Settings from the Maintenance tab in the printer driver.
