I could go into a long explanation of how to troubleshoot the laptop but if it's only ten weeks old... take it back. if the noise you hear is like a ticking noise the hard drive may have quit.

Yes, at 10 weeks you should go back to the vendor.
However, I will make an educated guess.
Overheating, fan seized. The fan might be failing which would explain the noise and cause the computer to shutdown to protect it from heat damage.
Whether I am right or wrong, you will still want to get things fixed under warranty with the venor.

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.
