If you are trying to play the DVD using Windows Media Player, click on this DIRECT LINK for the K-Lite Codec and install it. This will let you play your DVD correctly. Please let me know of the outcome and we can try something else in case it does not work. Thank you and regards.
Here is a simple way to find out if it is the program that you are using or actually your computer. What I am going to do is list a link at the bottom for you to install and try and watch your movies on. This is called VLC it is a movie player with a bunch of different codec's. You can think of a codec as a way to translate the designed language of the movie into audio and video. Different movies are written in different ways and not all programs have all of the correct codecs. But anyway VLC is jammed packed full of codecs. I use it personally, never had a issue it works amazing. This is my quickest and easiest solution.
Windows 2000 or Later http://www.videolan.org/mirror-geo.php?file=vlc/0.9.8a/win32/vlc-0.9.8a-win32.exe
ensure that you have roxio disk or that you can reinstall it from your pc factory utilities (on dell, hp etc. under start button/all programs) Go to control panel add remove program remove roxio and install it again. If it does not work, Windows may have developed a problem. In this case run system restore to an earlier date.
Depending on the OS and Drivers, DirectX version I presume 9c, check your AverMedia TV card, in other slot PCI, and reinstall drivers, if required. Should work.
but, drivers, too for the Video Card, if Nvidia? download the latest.
the issue is with expired codec of your player. This is a software level issue. Two solutions:
1. set your system date to Nov. 15, 2006, then try playing it again.
2. download the codec from http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm
***this should solve your issue***
