Question about Toshiba (K000006610) for Satellite P25 Series Motherboard

3 Answers

Shutting down I have a P25 and this past two weeks it has cut off on me while running on AC. After shutting down, I can immediately restart it without incident. I was thinking that the original battery may not hold any charge (I almost never use it off AC) and maybe the power cord jiggled loose, meaning I instantly had no power. I figured I would get a new battery and see if that took care of it. If not...... Any other suggestions? The computer has not been moved, it basically is used as a desktop.

It just dies. Only happened 5 times, but all this past two weeks. I took out and put back the battery, and then took out the power cord and it still ran, so I do not know which was loose.

I never thought about overheating! Thanks!

Throw it in the garbage. I took my P25 into Circuit City, they claim they replaced the heat sink and battery. It still shuts off.

Does it cut out on battery?
How often does it cut off?
Does it just die (no lights or anything) or reboot?

Why won't it start?

I copied and pasted this answer from your other question as I thought it was the same one Sherry.... Hope it helps you.

It should automatically restart.....BUT what happened is that when you unplugged it, you cut off the blower at the same time you cut off the heat element(s). The way it is supposed to work, is the thermostat cuts power off to the elements and the fan continus to run for a per-determined amount of time to remove al the heat from the elements. Then another 'fan control switch' shuts off the fan once the 'residual' heat is removed from the heater. Without that 'cool down' cycle, the hot element had enough 'residual' heat in it to trip off the 'thermal overload' in the circuit. The 'thermal overload'... or...'hi limit'...or...'hi temperature control' is resposible for shutting power off to the element(s) in the event that the blower fails.

Why does my computer automatically shut itself down on the same day each week.

There are a couple possibilities...first, when you say shut down, do you mean that it restarts, or it actually shuts completely off? Windows update will auto-run weekly and restart the system if necessary. Otherwise, I'd suspect something with your antivirus scanner settings.

Acer Aspire 7560 wont restart

Before shutting down your system click on any programs still running and shut them down. This will cut the time for normal shut down to take place.

You could also run a hard drive diagnostic to see if it has any errors. There might be some if you don't let the computer shut down itself. Restarting can also cause the programs to become corrupt, if they didn't shut down right. Running a defrag on the drive will also help it shut down quicker.
Look on the net also for information on getting your PC to shut down quicker.

Car shutting off

whilst i am not familiar with the actual car i would say...
if it cuts out immediately then its electrical...check coil, ignition amplifier etc.
If the car cuts slowly by losing power, spluttering etc it will be fuel related....fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter.
Does the car restart immediately or do you have to leave it for a while?
what happens just prior to the vehicle shutting down?

Samsung Laptop Shuts Down Unexpectedly

It may be overheating. Try using a vacuum cleaner hose on the air vents, that will help to clear the ventilation for the radiator.

Computer shutting off

shutting off when? Shutting off immediately when you try to start it? Shutting off after it has run for a while?

If it is shutting off after it has run for a while, then it is probably running hot. If you try to restart it immediately it will not boot. If you let it cool off for a while then it will boot successfully (definitely a sign of running hot).

Things that make a computer run hot:
1) Dust in the vents, fans, cpu & heat sink and all inside the computer.
2) Fan not working
3) The Thermal Paste on the cpu and heat sink has either dried up or is too thin to keep it cool.

If it shuts down immediately after it has been sitting for a while then it's not running not and your system has some other problem.

2003 Jetta GLS (not TDI) alternator replaced twice in 2 weeks. WTH?

If the problem was in the alternator, the battery would have been discharged and you would not have been able to restart the car (unless jumped, but not have run for more than a few minutes before shutting down again) So, my answer: No.

Laptop won't run on ac power and keeps shutting down

Check that the AC power works, go to a repair shop and test a different one or have voltages checked with a multimeter.

If the AC adapter is fine, then it is usuall because AC socket solder joints on laptop are broken. In this case , it is a delicate repair, and must be done by an expert repairman.
