Think you have the progression of the problem backwards. Likely the engine got hot and began knocking...THEN your wife put too much oil in there to correct it but that did not work. Do not drive it and have it towed to a shop, or, put an external oil pressure gauge on it and check pressure. Likely you either had an overheat due to a coolant problem or due to a bad engine bearing. Either way, I'll bet you have little or no oil pressure and pretty likely you need an engine. (replacing bearings is an option but generally they will fail again soon after the repair is completed)

Why did the engine get hot? Coolant loss? Was the oil level too low before more was added? If it was low, how many quarts should have been added? I believe you have serious engine problems. Too much oil is as bad as too little. What happens when it is overfilled, is the oil 'foams', causing a lack of lubrication of internal components. Oil in a foamy state will not lubricate properly. I believe what you hear is a crankshaft or rod bearing that is now damaged. If I'm correct, you need to replace the engine. Sorry for the bad news.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country CODE P1698

My wife has a 97 town and country. For about 2 weeks the instrument panel
was going out then coming back on. A couple days ago it got bad. The van would start and run only several seconds then the engine would shut down.
I took the Instrument panel out and it started and stayed running. I pulled the
PC board found the bad Soder connections and resodered them. Problem
was gone and the P1698 code erased. Best thing is it did not cost me anything and the van is fixed !

I have an 04 Town and Country and it is having problems turning over. When we try to start it there is a loud clicking sound that comes from the relay box and im not sure what to think.

I think it's either a weak battery or loose or dirty battery cable connections or loose connections on the starter or loose or bad connections anywhere in between the battery and the starter.

sounds like the heater is drawing down the battery. Which would be a battery or alternator problem most likely. If not check the amp draw of the blower motor .
