It's more than likely the optical blocks needs a replacement, about $1,100 to include labor... ouch. i have the same problem, luckily Sony is fixing this problem for free. Go to the following link and it will tell you. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=KDF60WF655&news_id=20

basically when i call sony, they just asked me questions like, have you tried disconnecting it and resetting it. do you use cable or antenna. when did you buy and where. then they get your name, number and adress and find you the local authorize repair person. they will analized and verify that it is that problem and they'll give you instructions on how to get sony to fix it. I haven't call the authorized repair man yet, i'll do that tomorrow (2/11/2008). Good luck, i hope this helped.

Hi,

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sony LCD Model KF-60WE610 lamp was replaced and then it shortly after stopped turning on. Blinks Green 6 times then Red 6 times Please help!

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.

The $1200 was for the lcd engine not the lamp. You should change the lamp. The buzz is the power supply trying to light the lamp.

Some of the ICs on the power supply block are damaged. This can possibly due to high voltage or defective IC. What you can do now is to get a new PS block. If you can get me the part number i can help you find it..

Kf-42610 blue hue and blue dots on screen

Hi Guys

The Blue dots or discolouration you are seeing is due too the Blue LCD screen having cracked from excessive heat. This normally happens when you have a power failure while the Television was on. This obviously because the Blue LCD sits next to the lamp - the main cause of heat. The correct part number on the 60" is A-1086-952-A. It is very, very ,expensive.

Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news. Good luck : )

if the lines on your screen looks anything like the image below, you do have a problem with the lcd, problem is you need to replace what is called the light engin. unfortunatly the price of this part is just about as much as a new replacement tv. Get a sceond opinion fron a sony service center near you, as i cannot see your picute. good luck
