Question about Haier HSB03 Compact Refrigerator

2 Answers

Temperature control I got my refrigerator used, and it didn't come with a user manual, so I'm not sure which temperature setting I should have it on. I have trouble with the wrong food getting frozen, so I make it warmer, but then I'm afraid of food spoiling. What setting do you keep your fridge on?

I would suggest buying a little refrigerator thermometer.
Turn the t-stat all the way up to the coldest setting. Watch the thermometer by checking it from time to time when it reaches 36 to 38 degrees slowly turn the t-stat down till you here the compressor shuts off. Remember water freezes at 32 degrees.

Our fridge alarm keeps going off even though it's closed. What should we do?

It's obviously warning you of a probable service/temperature issue, Do not ignore it.
Consult your users manual to make sure some settings did not get changed. Check for proper closure of doors. Make sure condenser coils are kept clean. See users manual for location of coils

What setting must my fridge and freezer be at. Thanks

RFA70 settings Controlling the Temperature of the Fridge Compartment The left hand control wheel on the front panel adjusts the internal fridge compartment temperature. The internal temperature should be 5?C or colder, although some sections such as the salad bin will be slightly warmer. The setting of the control wheel will depend on the location of the fridge freezer, the room temperature and how often the door is opened. The normal set point (marked by a 3 on the dial) is usually suitable. If you need to adjust the temperature turn the control wheel using a coin to avoid damage: Clockwise (higher number) - Colder Anti-clockwise (lower number) - Warmer

Freezer alarm goes off even though the freezer temperature is below -20C. The compressor runs continuously.

From the sound of it the temperature control is bad. I'm only stating this because if the cold control (temperature control) isn't converting the temperature to electrical signal properly, the machine will constantly run trying to reach the set temperature the cold control is set at. Question, is there a digital display showing the temperature or did you use a meter or thermometer to check it, and how is the temperature set, by a digital control or a dial, rheostat or any other type of manual control?

I was not able to find a manual for your model; perhaps the company has not posted going back this far. Your model seems to be available on the resale market in Australia. If your model is not from Australia, vist the following site http://www.fisherpaykel.com.au/customercare/userguide/ and in the bottom of the webpage select the country the refrigerator was purchased. verify your model number and then go to Customer Care > Find A User Guide. Use the search fields to find your User Guide; if you leave the model number blank and select rerfigertaor you wil get a selection of all the available User Guides for refrigerators.

The Fisher and Paykel site seemed to only has one User Guide for all their refrigeration model but it does not list as applicable for the N249T. See here: http://www.fisherpaykel.com//admin/pdfs//pdf_usecares/837186-Ref_Freezer-UG_NZ-AU-UK-PAC.pdf

However on page 18 it does describe the Temperature Control:

1 is for the warmest setting

7 is for the coldest setting

The Problem Solving Section on page 29 advises that when food is freezing in the refrigerator the temperature setting is not correct or food is placed directly in front of air outlets.

If the unit is not shutting off when the desired temperature is reached there may be a problem with the thermostat.

Hope this is of some assistance.

If you have a combined refrigerator/freezer thermometer, check the freezer compartment temperature too. You should have the overall temperature control set so that you have the freezer at 0 to -5 degrees F. All combined units will (or should, at least) have a control that allows you to divert a varying amount of the cooled air to the refrigerator.
If you need the user guide, I found a good link but out here in the boonies, our connection is so slow, I may not live long enough to download the .pdf file. If you retrieve the manual, check for the settings as I described.

I have a ge profile side by side refrigerator model number psc25psta. The freeze is not getting cold. How do I reset the temperature.

Here is a link to the main GE Support page for your refridgerator:

http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SpecPage&Sku=PSB42YSXSS

And here is a link to the Online User's Manual with the operating instruction for it:

http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60558.pdf

See page 5 of the User Manual for detailed instructions on how to adjust the fridge and freezer temperatures. It reads as follows in the manual:

To change the temperature, press and release
the WARMER or COLDER button. SET will illuminate in
the display, as well as the set temperature. To change
the temperature, tap either the WARMER or COLDER
button (while SET is illuminated) until the desired
temperature is displayed. Refrigerator temperatures
can be adjusted between 34F and 47F and
the freezer temperatures can be adjusted
between 6F and +8F.

Once the desired temperature has been set,
the temperature display will clear after 10 seconds.
To display the temperature, the DISPLAY TEMP button
may be tapped.
Several adjustments may be required. Each time you
adjust controls, allow 24 hours for the refrigerator to
reach the temperature you have set.

Good luck and please comment back here and RATE 4 Thumbs Up if this was at all helpful.

Just click on the highlighted links with your mouse in order to access the information described.

If the link does not open properly, you may need to download a PDF Reader program for your computer. The best reader can be downloaded free at www.adobe.com where you just click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on the right hand side of the page and follow the on-screen instructions.

Just comment back here if you require any further assistance, I will be pleased to assist you in any way I can.

Thank you very much.

I have a Samsung refrigerator/freezer How do I adjust the freezer temperature?

Hello,

1Place the appliance thermometer in a glass of water.

2Set the glass of water with the thermometer in the refrigerator on the middle shelf.

3Check the temperature on the appliance thermometer after 24 hours.
The temperature should register between 37 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit (2 and 4 degrees Celsius) in order to store food safely.

4Look for the temperature control dial inside the refrigerator if you have to adjust the temperature, and make it warmer or cooler.
If you can’t easily see the control dial, check the owner’s manual for a diagram that shows the location
When looking at the refrigerator temperature dial, you may see numbers rather than degrees. The majority of refrigerators use a set of numbers, with the lower numbers representing cooler temperatures and the higher numbers representing warmer temperatures.

5Move the temperature dial in the necessary direction to adjust the temperature up or down. Be sure to move the dial only one number in either direction because it probably will not take much to change the temperature in the refrigerator.

6Adjust the temperature balance control if your refrigerator has such a dial or sliding switch. This allows you to direct more or less cold air to the refrigerator section from the freezer section.

7Wait at least 24 hours, and then check the refrigerator temperature again.

8Observe the amount of frost in the freezer section of the refrigerator if you are unable to properly set the temperature.

90Defrost the freezer if the amount of frost is more than .25 inches (.64 cm) thick.

10Repeat the steps as necessary until the temperature is within the safe range.

11Use a permanent marker to draw a line on the dial after you locate the best setting on the refrigerator temperature dial. This will give you a reference point in case your dial moves and needs to be adjusted in the future.

Hope this helpout...

Refrigerator temperature control panel not lit. This happened last week but corrected itself....not sure how....but now display panel is off for good, it seems. Main Refrigerator lights are still working,...

Your Refrigerator Has a main controlboard located in the rear of the machine. This Controlboard sends power and reads the user information. if your user display (Temp Control panel) is not working it can only be 2 things The user display or the main controlboard.

As far a the refrigerator working without it, I would not trust it.

The clicking noise is a relay on the main control.
Usualy when I here this relay go on and off rapidly, there is a problem whith the main controlboard.

The big problem with this is why did the main control go out ? some other componet on the refrigerator could be the cause. A comon cause in the past has been the evaperator fan motor.
