Unfortunately since the problem is on the hardware (lcd screen), there is no way of fixing it except from the people of the service center.

I have fixed this problem recently.. Heres what worked for me.
Dissasemble the unit where you leave the lcd screen exposed..
Look for the two ribbon cables underneath the lcd screen that are attached to other boards on this camera. Remove the ribbon cables fully and reseat the cable back in making sure they
are properly inserted.. Turn camera on before reassembly and voila your lcd display should come back to life..

Memory card error with 4gb card

Your camera was made before 4GB SDHC card format came out. Sorry, but a Powershot A610 can only work with 2GB or less standard SD cards. Fortunately, these are very inexpensive these days. If your local store doesn't carry them, then here's some from Amazon.

It was dropped in ocean more than a week ago . Now not turning on. What can be done to fix it?

Even if you dried it properly (burying it in a bowl of dry rice for a week before even trying to turn it on), salt water is very corrosive and continues to do damage for weeks and months. It also dries to a salty film on the lens elements. Dropping a camera into salt water is usually a death sentence for a camera. Even if you could find someone willing to repair it, the cost would be astronomical since everything except the case would have to be replaced.

My Canon A430 Camera got a bit wet when I fell into a Dam this weekend. The camera did not at all touch the water, but a few drops of water did land on the camera. After drying the few drops off, the...

Apparently, Some water worked its way into the camera circuitry. You need to stop trying to get it to're only making things worse. Remove the card and battery. Bury the camera in a bowl of dry rice for a few days to absorb any moisture.

Canon Powershot a610 dropped, lens stuck half way, won't move, gives E18 whenever one puts it in the mode to take a picture, no view through lens. Is the camera toast?

Hello there,
The E18 error is related to the LENS not able to retract fully. If it is still under warranty, I would advise you bring it to the nearest service center. This is to avoid further damages. Otherwise, you can try a few things below.
There are a couple of things you can do.
1. Turn it on and then off. Spray canned air around the lens.
If trick 1 will not work out, try this.
2. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Turn on the camera and then give it a couple of firm whacks on the side. Make sure nothing is blocking the lens and wait for it to fully retract.
Let me know how it goes.

Cannon A610 + water = Print/Share button blue light !

Depends on how old your water ingress problem is.

If it is a recent problem, half fill a bowl with rice place your camera in it and cover the entire phone is rice, bury it.

Rice is hygroscopic and will absorb moisture from the camera.

No guarantee that will work though. Corrosion doesn't need much convincing to get going.

Canon Powershot A610 won't power-up

My camera stopped working some time later after being dropped.
If you are brave (or desperate), try this... I found it was not too difficult to open the camera up. Take all the screws from the bottom, sides and under the card and usb, and inside the battery compartment. They are all different lengths so keep some record of what goes where. Then I made sure the multiway connector underneath the top was firmly in place. That was all I could see that I could fix myself. And what luck! when I put it back together it worked.

Powershot a610 will not power on

Junk in the usb mini connector could be shorting the main board out. Try a can of electronics duster in the port. Cheers!
