Question about Jenn-Air JCD2389G Side by Side Refrigerator

Ice Maker not making ice

We had something in the ice maker bin for a few days that I think was preventing the wire arm from operating freely. Once we removed the item from the bin the wire arm was "stuck" in upright position. I used some force and released the arm back to "on" position. The ice maker is making the clicking sounds like its making ice but no ice is coming out. The arm feels loose now and will go up and stay in the "off" position and will allow you to release it to the "on" position. What damage did I do by forcing the arm down and what needs to happen to make ice again?

there is usually an ice overflow switch or electric eye
sensor telling the ice maker that the bin is full. Something
may be obstructing this.

Ice maker stopped working

When the ice bin fills up, it won't let the arm all the way down. The arm must go down for more ice to drop into bin. Sometimes an ice cube or two will get caught under the arm and prevent it from cycling. Continuing to use the ice maker will empty bin but no new ice is made. Clear any ice cubes from under the arm and the cycle will start again. My ice maker takes about twelve hours to fill after it has been emptied but ice from the door is available almost imediately.

Frigidaire Gallery French Door Refrigerator ice maker not making ice

You can search with your model number to see if a filter is available or not. Secondly unless the ice maker was damaged for sure it's likely that the fan is not running in that compartment or air is leaking into the refrigerator and making the ice maker think its not cold enough to make ice.

Not making ice

There are a few simple test you can do that will answer what the problem is. First look inside of your ice maker and see if there are cubes remaining and if yes just check the switch to be in the on position. Look and see that the ice bin full feeler arm works freely. If the ice make still has cubes the problem is most likely the ice maker. If the ice slots are empty the most likely reason is your triple water control valve=> 241734301-2 Triple Water Control Valve You can test that by filling the ice maker with tap water and if after the water freezes the ice maker drops the ice into ice bin and then does not refill with water replace the water valve. its the ice maker .water or condensation has built up in the ice maker modual and refroze upon turning unit back on.either get a new ice maker or uninstall the ice maker and let it dry for a few days and reinstall.but it could happen again that way.or maybe not.

Ice maker overfill

The metal off/on arm may be disconnected. A full bin should keep the arm in the up position and shut off the ice maker.
Remove, then re-insert the metal arm in the back of the ice maker control head.
Make sure that a full bin of ice activates the control arm.
You may need to buy a replacement arm that is longer so that the ice catches on the arm.

I have a Whirlpool Model EC3JHAXRL00. The ice

Is the ice maker wire shutoff arm or switch (depending on
models) in the OFF position?
Is the water line shutoff valve to the refrigerator turned on?
Has the ice maker just been installed? Is the freezer
temperature cold enough to produce ice? Wait 24 hours
after ice maker hookup for ice production to begin. Allow
3 days after ice production begins to completely fill ice
Does the ice maker mold have water in it or has no ice
been produced? Make sure your refrigerator has been
connected to a water supply and the supply shutoff valve is
turned on.
Has a large amount of ice just been removed? Allow
24 hours for ice maker to produce more ice.
Is there a water filter installed on the refrigerator? The filter
may be clogged or installed incorrectly.
Is an ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
For models with an interior ice bin, remove the ice from the
ejector arm with a plastic utensil.
Is a reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? Make sue your connections are secure.

Ice maker does not consistently make ice...

try turning off ice maker for a day. remove the bucket that holds the ice. look all around bucket and into ice maker to determin if there is a jam, or if there is a cube stuck there preventing operation. Check that the ice arm can move freely and it is properly inserted on both ends. Make sure there is nothing in your freezer that could be getting in the way of the ice maker operation, either above or below the unit. One hint-wear disposable gloves when working with the ice maker-if you have any moisture on your hands, you tend to stick to the unit.

GE Monogram ZISS480DMCS Ice Maker Problem

Check and make sure that the float arm in the ice bin is down and able to swing. This arm should be down until the bin is full of ice which would raise the arm and stop any water flow until ice cubes are removed, and allows the arm to drop again to start the cycle all over again, to replace the ice that was used. The arm has a spot to snap in and be held where it would be in a position all the way raised, to allow the bin to come out for cleaning or all of the ice removal from the bin, such as to dump the ice in a cooler. The arm should be gently pulled down to hang freely and will slowly raise on its own as the bin fills with ice.

Ice maker won't stop making ice

OK, there's two possible issues but you have to figure out what is happening. Does the ice maker continue to make ice forever and would fill up the whole freezer section in time OR does the ice maker just "over make" ice that overfills the bin which then falls out? If the ice maker just keeps making ice you need the motor module replaced but if it can be turned off by moving the lever up then you need the "modified lever assy." that is on our service bulletins.
