93 dodge dakota has fire for a second or two when cranked and then nothing. does it have anything to do with the automatic shutdown relay?

I'm not sure on a 1993, but on the generation 2 Dakotas (1997-2004) the automatic shutdown relay will be deactivated (turning off power to coil and injectors) if the PCM does not receive a signal from the crankshaft position sensor.
