I purchased this cd/radio/music keg head unit KDC-MPV622, and the seller said the code was 2600 to unlock it, put it in my sons car, and that code does not work. Any ideas how to unlock it so he can put in his own code?
According to Kenwood's car audio FAQ, the stereo needs to be brought to a Kenwood service center to be decoded. You may run into a problem, however, as Kenwood requires a receipt or other proof of purchase in order to prove you are the rightful owner of the radio.
Good luck, I hope this was helpful, even if it maybe wasn't the answer you would like to hear.

this code was created and entered into the radio by the owner of this radio, not by kenwood this is an antitheft feature that cannot be undone without that person's help. Kenwood will not be able to "decode" this unit unfortunately
