Hi there
If your wireless keyboard worked at one time, my guess is, it is compatible, but you may just need to adjust a few settings. Did you previously go through the steps of setting up the device, or did the keyboard begin to work, upon plugging it in? A few things you can check, before attempting to reinstall the keyboard are as follows:
1. Make sure your Bluetooth device is on and is discoverable
- Turn on the device and make it discoverable (varies by device, check information that came with device)
2. Make sure Bluetooth is active on Surface
- Open the Settings charm, then tap or click Change PC Settings
- Tap or click Wireless
- Make sure Bluetooth is set to On
3. Check to verify the keyboard is listed under available devices.
- Open the Settings charm, tap or click Change PC settings.
- Tap or click Devices to see a list of available devices.
If your keyboard does not show up in the list of available devices, I would recommend going through the steps of
adding the device.
Hopefully that works for you, but should you have further problems adding a device, see
Troubleshoot Bluetooth.
