Question about JVC XV-N33SL DVD Player

JVC XV-N33SL - Resume Function failing

Hi - I hope you can help... I have a JVC XV-N33SL DVD player and it's worked brilliantly for years... Only problem is that recently whenever I turn it onto standby, it loses it's memory. All the settings re set them self and it asks me if I want to access basic set up every time I turn it back on. This also means that I lose the 30 disc resume function which was so appealing and has been so useful over the years.
Is there any way to cure this problem?
Feel free to email a solution should there be one to my work address - andrew.singleton@zibrant.co.uk or else I will keep checking back incase there is anything you guys can do?
Thanks for your time.

Andrew

When I insert a DVD disc I get the message "cannot read disc". The DVD player will play an audio CD but not the video. DVD player is a JVC Model #XV-N320.

Hi,

Good day. The message your getting only tells you that the Dvd your trying to play have a lot of scratches already that makes it unreadable for your dvd player. You can try to wipe the dvd first then try it again. If it doesn't work then that means the dvd unusable. Hope this information help a bit in resolving your question. Thanks for using fixya and have a great day

My Jvc DVD has failed to display on ma Tv screen since i just started using universal remote , what is de problem?

Hi kirkfbk ,

i would recommend for you to check if the cables of the DVD player is firmly attached to the TV and make sure all the power cable is firmly attached to both TV and DVD player. this issue might have nothing to do with the Universal Remote.

i hope this helps.

Lock

Hi there,

The disc lock function has been activated on your JVC XV-N320, when in this mode the tray cannot be opened or closed.

If you press the 'eject' button whilst pressing down the 'stop' button on the machine in standby mode the disc lock will deactivate. To turn it back on you follow the same procedure. This is also described in the user manual for this model of TV umder trouble shooting on page 13.

Hope this helps,

James
