Thanks for nothing muktar... anyone know how to open this thing up? I have the same problem with left click button, wouldn't be here if we wanted top buy a new one, Mukkie old pal!

  • Anonymous Apr 14, 2010

Got it open the hard way... turns out there is a screw under each of the 4 very thin friction pads, which are easily removed with a knife tip or small screw driver. Old Mukkie was right tho... nothing fixable inside. I've cut off the USB cord for future projects and thrown away the mouse.

I had the same problem and tryed to solve using some instructions from youtube videos but these don't applied to confort 3000. Anyway, I've opened the mouse (removing four screws under plastic protections in the mouse's base), remove all external plastic parts to expose the defective button (welded to the board). Then I strongly pressed the little black button with a thin tip. My intention was move the internal metal plate (contact plate) to the limit and, this way, forcing a "metalic memory" to returning to the original and correct position. I had no idea if it would make effect, but It worked. At this moment my left button mouse is working fine. I hope it still working in the next few weeks. I don't know.

I've got a optical mouse 3000, and a bunch of batteries in the junk drawer, I'm sure at least one of them has good life in them, but the mouse keeps flashing red....also it seems to work when I right...

The red light is connectivity to the dongle on the PC.
Check your mouse settings in Windows for the left mouse button settings.
Does the mouse move on the screen?
You can try reversing the mouse buttons to see if the button is defective. If you swap the buttons and now right mouse clicks do not work, the button is defective.

Magnification function

With one hand, press down on the mouse to hold it VERY still.
Then, with the other hand, while not allowing the mouse to move,
click the button on the right-hand edge of the mouse.

Then, run the software that came on a CD-ROM with the mouse to "disable" that specific mouse-button.

Left mouse button doesn't work

You need to check the mouse settings.
If the mouse settings are ok. Then you need to replace the mouse.

Intelli point won't open on software so I can reprogram buttons please help

Make sure the batteries are good.
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
