Firstly, you need to take the steps recommended by HP which are:
1. Remove both cartridges from the printer and clean the cartridge points on the printer using soft cotton cloth dipped in distilled water.
2. Connect the printer direct to a wall jack (power) if it is plugged in to a surge protecting extension cord.
3. Turn off the printer, and turn it back on. When the printer prompts to insert the ink cartridges, insert them to the printer.
4. If the issue persists, download the firmware patch from the following link:
NOTE: Ensure the printer is connected to the computer and also turned on while you install the patch.

If this doesn't fix the problem, and you've tried new cartridges, then some people have experienced an issue with a sensor wire. It is held in place by two small plastic notches on the stall and one of the notches could be broken. When you install a cartridge it is pushing the sensor wire away and so does not therefore register the cartridge has been installed. To check if you have this problem, take out both cartridges and compare the sensor wire housings on the two stalls. Use some tape to secure the wire in place.

If this doesn't fix the problem then it sounds like the printer needs servicing (replacement or warranty an option for you?). The cartridge contact points are probably damaged. You will want to assess whether getting the printer repaired is cheaper than buying a new one if you can't get it done under warranty!

try disconnecting the cables, unplugging the printer, turn off your computer, reapply cables and the computer back on, see if that resets the printer

There is a warning message that says remove and check cartridge

Open the lid, remove the cartridge. Clean the contacts on it. Clean the pins on the printer. Put the cartridge back in. If it still gives you the same warning messages, one of your cartridges is ready for a replacement.

Cartridge error HP2210

Buy a new one. It is the correct cartridge, but it might be "broken". That happens all the time- one of the wires on the cartridge electronic has blown and the printer now does not see the cartridge, that's why you are receiving that message.

You press Enter , but the error message does not go away ? You have to bypass the cartridge alignment -
  1. Press and hold the Setup button.
  2. Press the Options button. The printer should be ready to print.

HP Printer will no longer scan

Hi Keithcarrol

Please do the following
1. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all HP Software.
2. Disconnect all Prinetrs
3. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Printers and Faxes make sure there is no Printers in there if there is delete them
4. Install Psc 2210 software and follow instructions on when to connect printer.

Photo card inserted backwards error

Try a full NVM reset on the unit and check
Reset Steps are.
Unplug the power cord from the unit when there is still power in the All-In-One and press and hold the # and No 9 Button without releasing the buttons plugg the power cable back, it should come up with a message as reset
If the screen go's blank after you connect power cable, then release the keys and turn the power On, it will come up with a message as Full NVM Reset
