Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Denon UD-M30 (CD Receiver) bought U.K. using in apt.Fuerteventura

Massive sudden increase in volume 15 to 30! Can this be a remote device being used by a neighbour? Can't think of anything else! Using a "surge protector" bought in Fuerteventura, but don't know what else to do. Can't ask neighbours to stop using their own devices, and anyway Spanish is not good enough to explain problem. Has anyone else had similiar problems? Will be devastated if we can't play our music!
Hope somebody out there can help!

It is more likely your remote has a stuck button. If your device is not UHF, then your neighbors remote will not affect you.
I would check your remote first. Remove the batteries on your remote, and see if that fixes it. Then put the batteries back in, and see if your units volume goes up again.

I have just solved this problem with my system - it is caused by bad connections between the boards. There are multipin connectors that connect the main boards together via a small vertical board. Check that these are fully connected and you will probably solve the problem.

CD JUMPING

Try looking into the lens (power off) with a magnifying glass. If you see any damage you will need to replace the lazer/lens section as the lens will never be able to read the disc.
If it's clear it's more likely to be an electronic fault.

We had the same problem, found that if you plug your device into "line 2 in" on the back and select tape it worked for our ipod. We had to turn the volume right up on the ipod to hear it though

Disc reading

How confident are you at opening it up? And where are you? If it can get table of contents info it could be gummed up grease on the laser sled.
