I bought an Unlocked Iphone in London, that came with an special part to place over the SIM card. I tried with my London SIM Card and it worked fine. When I change to my Brazilian SIM Card when I try to make a call when I press the first number it returns to the Home screen; When I try to send or read a SMS message it returns to the Home Screen; When it receives a call it locks the Iphone until It stops the call.
Thats called sms and phone crashing whenever you use it becoz you are using sim of unsupported country. I know the solution. Add me on msn messenger we can find the solution online : email@example.com
The turbosim you have is pre-programmed to work with uk networks, to solve this problem you'll have to purchase another pre-programmed turbosim that will work with your brazilian simcard..........check ebay!
i DID have your problem but the differece is that your phone souns like it has only been unlocked through a 'turbo sim'. the problem is that there only unlocked to the one simcard that u origanly used (london sim card).
depending on the model of your iphone will depend if your phone can be unlocked using software (that means its unlocked to any sim)
if i am wrong and its not turbo simed then you will have to try and reset your phone or even 'erase all content and settings' this wont delete any programes, just ur music, videos and contacts.
if that still wont work you need to change the date to anything less than the 12th of any month, anything greater then the 12th makes the phone error.
to find out if your iphone can be unlocked there are a number of websites that can show u how, just google

I have a unlocked ZTE Mf190 USB-Modem. When I put the SIM card in it and
connect it to the computer, I am able to connect to 3G Internet via
beetel connection manager. Is it also possible to send and receive SMS.
But when I try to make a voice call on beetel voice call panel, I
receive this error message "Dialing failed! Please try again!" . And
also when I use another phone to call the SIM card line number that I
put in the USB-Modem, I receive busy tone
The sim card is located at the top of the iPhone at the middle, when you bought the iPhone it should have come with a special metal pick type object that helps remove the sim card. A paper clip should work just as well..

Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it. Reset To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears. If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
More resets: Try This: 1. Remove Sim Card 2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears 3. Replace Sim Card 4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.
Also, Try this: 1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G. 2.) Start up iTunes 3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G 4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable 5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset. 6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.
I've tried to lock the iPhone to my tele provider in stead of letting it search for available networks (the automatic option in settings). Seems to work. But I will also get a new sim card. Strange problem though...
