Question about Cuisinart DCC-2000

Contact Cuisinart warranty regarding your problems 1-800-726-0190

The Cuisinart DCC-2000 and other similar coffee machines seem to have alot of the same problems. Water won't spray or leaking out the bottom of the unit, etc, etc.

My unit began leaking less than 6 months of age and the funny part is I thought my husband was over pouring the water onto the counter. My coffee maker is now 18 months old, the problem is much worse now and I began looking online regarding my unit and found this site. Thanks so much for the info because I can tell many of the different DCC-2000 series units seem to have the same problems.

I contacted warranty service and repair because the book states there is a 3 year limited warranty on my unit the DCC-2000 and the gal that answered the phone knew exactly what I was talking about and told me I would get a new machine but I had to pay shipping of $10.00 to me for the new one and I had to return the old one and pay the shipping for that. No problem I guess, but I do think because this seems like such a widespread problem there should be a recall on them and no cost for shipping to or from to the consumer.

Ah, well, at least now when the machine we love and enjoy using so much gets here we can (hopefully) have a pot of coffee and not have any water underneath the machine when the coffee is finished.

In final, I strongly urge anyone having problems with their unit to contact warranty at the number in the above subject line and give them the serial number on the bottom of your machine. It is not a stricker but is stamped into the machines plastic bottom and find out what they (Cuisinart) can do for you. I am quite pleased with their standing behind their product and will defintely purchase their brand again.

The telephone number for Cuisinart Warranty doesn't show on the subject line so here it is...

    1-800-726-0190

Per warranty book of the DCC-2000

    Disclaimer

Warranty(partial info given and copied and typed from the actual warranty book on hand for the model DCC-2000. Your model warranty may differ and this is no guarantee by me (coffeediva22) that Cuisinart will/will not fix/repair or replace your machine.

    Warranty----

    Limited Three-Year Warranty

We warrant that your Cuisinart "Coffee On Demand" Coffeemaker will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal home use for three years from the date of original purchase. Good luck and I hope their are many people who are able to use their machines with confidence again.

That was only a small portion of the warranty description in the book but it should give you an idea of Cuisinart's confidence in their product.

Same problem. Bought one in April 2007. February 2008 and the coffee maker is dead. No leaking, but no power, no clock. Called Cuisinart and the support guy said they have all kinds of problems with this maker leaking or just dieing when they're less than a year old. They're sending me a new one too

We just bought the same unit Cusinart and we are certainly sorry we did. Leaks, doesn't brew properly, over flows out of the basket and on and on.

Will be taking it back today. Seems like to me it would be better if the prople at Cusinart actually tested the units for all the various problems before trying to retail the unit at the stores.

I had the same problem with my DCC 2000 coffee maker. The water was leaking all over my countertop. I called the number you all posted on the site and they are sending me a reservoir tank to replace the one in my machine. She said the seal had come undone on mine. My machine is only 10 months old, I figured the seals wouldn't go out that quickly on any new machine. We'll see how it does with the new tank.

Thank you for the info...I don't have my booklet so I had no number!
They are sending me a new on for $10.00 plus return shipping which is
way better than spending another $100.00. They really should recall it!
    ~Thanks again ~

I have bought 2 of the coffee on demand makers in the last 18 months.

I thought maybe it was a fluke that the first one quit in 8 months. Now the second one has quit too. Stay away from this junk! If you want to pay 20.00 in shipping to replace a $100.00 machine, then go for it.

Back to Mr. Coffee for me.

Thanks to the nutty professor we now have our coffeemaker (COD-4000)back. Read about the one hour re-set time, tried it and it works. Now we have to return the new coffeemaker we bought to replace our COD-4000 machine.

The parts to repair a problem of this magnitude are generally not available. The DCC-2000 has a thre-year warranty. I would call Cuisinart and see if you can get an in-warranty replacement. I have a high opinion of cuisinart and their products, but this particular coffeemaker, I do not personally reccomend.

I have the same problem with my unit and Cuisinart Warranty is replacing my unit. Please see my post on this issue and perhaps calling them will net you a new machine or a fix to your problem. You will need the Serial number to your unit.

No guarantees by me of this, my machine is under warranty and I have no real information regarding yours.
