You didnt say mfg model no etc.
If you've lost the remote and you purchased a new universal remote and you've not found it's code yet then you may search for the code of the desired model. you can search it from the link. Click here

Comcast Remote Control Code

comcast sucks and its tech support are a bunch of idiots. the book that comes with the remote is wrong (and for some reason no one in tech support knows this). the remote requires 5 digit codes and all the codes in the book are 4. typing the number 1 in front of any of the codes in the book, for any device and manufacturer, should fix this problem.

Can't use tv without remote

There are many TV's that require a remote to operate them.

Are you saying your remote is lost or broken?

If that's the case, and you don't wan't to purchase an original replacement, you could try a universal remote.

Many 'universal' remotes come pre-programmed or can be programmed by entering codes for the make of TV.

Hope this helps.
