When i first plug this set in the green light starts to blink for about 30 sec.. after that it stops and i can turn tv on only then, light comes on with a blue screen with a bar on the side and bottom, then tv turns itself off,, and gives a red stats light, when i put it in test mode i get 44.
Is there any thing i should check b4 i go and get a list full of cap's?

The ribbon connector which goes from the FMT to the DM is disconnected or not seated properly thats the only thing that will cause the 4 4 error other than a broken ribbon socket
Thats a real strong possibility as the chassis has various caps that are prone to fail through out the chassis I jave listed the boards and the Capacitirs and their rating for you below

Based on the problem, the 'main power regulator' could have gone bad due to overheating. To test the 'main power regulator', follow the steps below:
1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket for 30 minutes.
2. Put a small desk fan towards to the back of the projection TV.
If the TV did not turn off by itself for an hour or two, then it's an
overheating issue and replacing the main power regulator should resolve
the problem.
But still, I would recommend you to consult the problem to the manufacturer or a repair tech for second opinion.

Try a reset. Start by unplugging for 1 minute, then plug back in & if still won't restart try the following. If none of the following work, you will need a technician.
Initializing the TV in many cases can remedy a problem.
In the 2006 product line Initialization is now a user function.
Pressing the front panel "INPUT' and "FORMAT"
buttons at the same time activates Initialization. When
complete all user settings will have to be set again. The
table in Figure 4-3 list the User Initialization procedures.
Note: Pressing INPUT and FORMAT is the same as

If you unplug the set and plug it back and turn it on and it repeats this look to see if the light is either constantly blinking or blinking a specific number of blinks---specific number would be an error code.
I had a similar problem. I had a 52" RCArear projection tv. It would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few "on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because of green light on the panel). The power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.
You may very well have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors
If the lamp and standby lights are both flashing and the timer light is off, check that the lamp cover on the back of the TV is properly positioned in the groove and secured by the screw. Take it off and check that the screws that hold the lamp itself are secure. There is an safety feature that keeps the lamp from turning on when the lamp cover is off.
If the three lights (timer, lamp, and standby) are blinking, then the lamp needs to be replaced. If the timer and standby lights are blinking and the lamp light is off, then a cooling fan isn't working. When only the standby light is blinking and the other lights are off, the unit is overheating and a ventilation area may be blocked.
Hi
Problem is probably PSU REGULATOR, STRF6668B.
I wouldnt recomend you repairing this yourself as there may be other components that will require checking.
You could end up blowing the replacement regulator.
Led blinking Three times means B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
If you have electronic knowledge you may be able to fix it. Let me know if I could help you further. Hope this helps.
I got it all apart, what a pain in the @ss
so far found a bad 1000uf cap on fmt board. will check what you said and see if it works
ribbon connector Is good,
I found a shorted 1000uf cap, but did not fix i think there are more caps to be fixed
WOW Are thay all bad? whats the best way to test a cap?
O ya i forgot
fuse F9A06 test .020 on the 2m ohm scale,, all athers test .00, I should replace it right? or is this reading OK?
