Question about SanDisk Sansa c240 MP3 Player

Ripping cds How can I name the books I rip from a cd to Windows Media Player. When they are synced to my player, they are listed as unknown artist, not under books? The cd's are listed as "tracks" After listening to a track on my player, how can I determine where I left off? In other words if a book has many cd's and I left off at track #6, how can I find which cd it came from?

I have several mp3 audio files I ripped from CDs where my player does not recognize the Album or Artist. I have the files on my hard drive, when I copy to my player, it puts them into an "Unknown" folder....

When the info is missing, check the settings in the RIP function of Windows Media Player.
1. During ripping there should be an internet connection.
2. For WMP11 the setting for retreiving media info from the internet should be selected under RIP > More Options... > Privacy:

For more info about getting the matching media info, look under RIP > Help with Ripping.
Getting the information directly, when ripping a new CD or
afterwards when the album is already in mp3 format.

If this was helpful I'd appreciate your reply.

I want to download my music off of itunes and put it on my sons mp3 player but its not working

i tunes and mp3 players are not compadable. i tunes is strictly for apple products(ipods) 2 download music to mp3 player, you would have to download music from ur pc from limewire or something like that. it will then copy to ur windows media player library and be ready to sync mp3 player.. good luck

using windows media player insert your cd and click on the rip tab if you have a internet connection then the cd info and song names will be obtained automaticly then after that is listed click on rip and wait for the files to be ripped into the library once done your music should appear in the windows media player library, then just drag those songs into the sync list on the right hand side of windows media player and connect your mp3 player, once its recognized click on sync and there you go

Want to download audio book on CD to my MP3 player

I had this jumbled up problem as it wasn't splitting up the tracks ie I had 6 track ones lined up together which put the chapters out of sync.
The trick is to load each CD individually and immediately 'rename' each ie name of book, genre, CD1, CD2 etc.
Then you can drag and drop into the MP3 player and they will be in the correct order.
Worked for me anyway.

Yep you sure can. Depending on the version of Windows Media Player that you have it's pretty easy to rip the CD and then sync it to your Mix Max. I recommend using Windows Media Player 11 as it's the easiest so I'd recommend you install that first. Then insert your CD into your computer, open Windows Media Player and click on the "Rip" button at the top. Select the tracks on the CD that you want to add to the player and click "Start Rip." Once the tracks have completed ripping click on the "Sync" button at the top right of Windows Media Player. Then just drag the tracks from the library on the left to the sync list on the right and click "Start Sync."

Playlist on MP3 player

I would not use the sync. I would make a new folder for your choices and put them in the order you want to hear them. Name the folders according to country, hip-hop, rap etc. If you want put the cd into it's own folder. Name the folder the cds shortened name...

Unknown Format

It is not the MP3 player but the DRM copy protection on the cd. DO NOT BUY CDs WITH DRM PROTECTION. There are ways around the DRM - rip the cd into another format with software designed for this purpose.

Unknown songs and artists

You will have to take them off the player,
rip your cd with media player, then BEFORE you sync them to the player, rightclick on the song, choose Advance Tag Editor and rename the song, artist, genre, then you can sync them over with title and name locked in the file.
