Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Screens won't display anything.

Hi.  My phone is about 3 months old and my front and inside displays just stopped working tonight.  I can receive calls in and make calls out, but can't see a thing on the screens.  HELP!

Open up the back panel and take the battery out of the back. Check to see if there is a red dot, if there is, then it's water damage and then you won't be able to send the phone out for warranty. If there isn't any water damage, then I suggest you contact your service provider and let them know what happened. As long as there are no major damages to the phone (like it looks like a dog has been chewing on it, or it's been dropped one too many times) then it should be okay for you to warranty it out and you'll get a new one for free. If there are important things that were in your phoen and you can't see anymore, I don't think that you would be able to get these back, unfortunately. But normally, stores have a one year manufacturer warranty, and so at least this would save you money and you wouldn't have to spend $200 for a new phone, you know what I mean? I hope that this was helpful for you, take care! =)

I have the same problem! I stripped mine down - quite easy with a small star driver, but take care - and cleaned the ribbon cable connectors with alcohol. I cleaned everything else that I could for good measure. It worked for quite a while, then just stopped again. I noted the backup battery is dead - I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Cell phone works, but can't see anything on display.

I think you need to have a replacement LCD for the phone.

Both Display Screens on Kyocera Strobe phone stopped working.

I would suggest taking it to the phone company and asking them for help. The phone might still be under warranty, and you might be able to get it fixed.
But if that doesn't help, you can often buy new display screens for phones and install them quite easily.

I would suggest looking on ebay for a screen for them.

Also, it may cost a little more, but you can buy a new phone exactly like this one for about 60 dollars on e-bay. This would be a last resort, but it is an option.

Hope this helps!

Display dies, although phone still functional

My razr V3 dropped from an astonishing 40cm to the floor, after that both screens stopped working. I opened the screen by removing the four tiny screws in each corner (t5 screwdriver which I didn't have but the smallest of my miniature screwdriver set just fitted), and popping it up carefully. There a two flatcables, one with a silvery color and a connector with a black piece of foam on it. I think it's the screen signal carrying cable. I removed it and put it back in place, pushing it firmly. After that the screens worked again. 10 minutes of work and a great deal of satisfaction. Further, the phone stinks. regards, El Rudo
