This camcorder is not compatible with Vista - it says so on the JVC Japan website! Mine worked fine on XP but when I changed my PC which came with Vista it was no longer recognised. Two solutions: 1, Go back to XP: 2 Buy a new camcorder which is compatible with Vista which is what I am going to do. Shame really as I really like the camcorder.

My problems are: 1.Setting the date and time. 2.Downloading video and pictures to my MAC OS X 10.5.2 . What can I do to solve these problems? I follow the installation guide that came with the camcorder with no success.  al

You need to use a firewall connection 1934 cable that can purchased at most stores, Radio Shack, Target, Best Buy and other stores.

You can use an IEEE-1394 firewire cable if your PC or Laptop has outlet for it otherwise you need to buy a firewire card, but you have to check the outlet provided to your videocam - 6/6 or 6/4 pins.

The other way is to use a TV tuner (PCI or USB) that is capable of video capture.

I have had the problem too, but I use the fire wire. I have tried several different wires, but it's hit or miss on whether my computer recognizes the attachment.

I think he meant a 1394 Firewire cable.

We are having the same problem. We have used the usb port to no success. We have tried in play mode with power on when we plugged into the usb. Please advise.
