when we attached a new card reader to the computer we lost the pictures on the card

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2009

I went to look at my pictures and they were all gone.

This is so sad!   I went to download all the photos of my four grandchildren visiting me at my ranch....NO photos.

I'm new to the camera, so I'm very careful, only turning on the camera and adjusting for distance, never touching all the other buttons on the camera.

I have a new imac, and my daughter downloaded my first set of photos that I took, and all went well.

    What could have happened?
Thanks for any help anyone could give me.
    Nana

It should be no problem at all to get them back. Please see this post for several free software that you can download. You'll need to use a card reader with these programs though:

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

How do you delete the pictures, so that you can take some more pictures.

On the back of the Camera there is a "Delete" button, that has a picture of a Trash Can on it. Press and hold this button for 1 Second to delete the last picture taken. You should hear a short beep. To delete al the pictures off the camera, Press and hold the delete button for at least 2 seconds. You should hear a longer beep sound as confirmation.

Deleting pictures from memory card

The camera lacks internal RAM or space on the card to do enough caching to delete the pictures. If you were to not exceed about 60% capacity of the card the camera may be able to delete as much as you want on the card. You have to try this. If the camera has a format option for its memory card you can try it out to see if this will clean up the card. The other solution is to have a PC computer. Most of these devices are designed only for PC interface. Jerry G.

Here's a little more detail... connect the camera to your computer; turn your camera on; switch cable connection to "camera"; in the pop up box select "Copy pix to a ... using Micro Scan & Camera Wizard" and press "OK"; in the next box select "advance users only"; Double click the "DCIM" file; double click the next file; and if you want all the pix gone select the first photo press "Shift" then select the last photo; right click either photo; then press delete. All gone.... Hope this helps.

Hi I have a Finepix A920 digital camera which despite downloading the pictures from the camera keeps saying internal memory card full. Any Ideas ?

Downloading pix does not remove pix from card, YOu must manually delete pics on card or use Picasa to download and choose "delete card contents after download" option or similiar option of your software.
