A full feature software and driver package for Windows 7 is not available for your product. However, the Windows 7 operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product.

With the basic driver, the buttons on the product might not function and some of the advanced product features are not available. However, using the workaround procedures in this document, you can still print from a software.

The full feature software for your printer would be released around Jan 2010...once you install the full feature software for the printer, you would get back all the features as in XP.

SOURCE: Ink levels do not show on Windows 7

This is most probably due to the fact, that you are using a driver built into Windows. It's a basic driver and doesn't include the print monitor or other fancy stuff.
You can go to epson.com, choose support & drivers, and find what's available there for your model.

Are you able to print? If you are able to print, you probably just need to download the Monitor Status Program that works with Windows7, if any is available. Good luck!

Why can't I find the ink level of my HP 7960 printer the way I did with Windows XP?

The ink levels are a feature of the HP software. What probably happened is that when you had WIN XP you loaded the entire software package which included the ink level utility and with WIN 7 you may have only loaded the basic drivers which does not provide this capability. Check the HP support site for a full software package and see if that brings it back.

Can no longer check my ink level.

Sometimes Windows 7 drivers need to be downloaded from the HP support site. Also, make sure you have installed the application on the CD that came with the printer in addition to the printer drivers. That is what you would have run under Programs before. If your Windows 7 computer was not used to manage the printer before, you will need to install the HP management tool on it in order to see ink levels.

How to SHOW LEVEL OF refill INK hp1050 cartridge

Hi,

Here are the steps

1) Open the HP product software:

Under Windows XP OS: Click Start , click All Programs , click HP , click the folder for your HP product, and then click the icon for your HP product.

Under Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click the Windows icon, click All Programs , click HP , click the folder for your HP product, and then click the icon for your HP product.

You can also open the HP product software from your computer desktop. Double click on the HP product icon.

2) In the product software, double-click Estimated Ink Levels.

The HP Toolbox opens, displaying a graphic that represents the estimated ink levels for your product.

Thanks!!!!

I can't find the ink level on my 4200 hp since i went to dell and windows 7. my windows xp showed the levels when i scanned.

The issue is with the driver you are using for the 4200- I suspect if you visit support.hp.com, you would find the utility for windows 7 that would have the same function as in windows XP

Hi i have a printer (brother MFC-235C). I changed

No there's no specific drivers for windows 7 either 32 bit or 64 bit, it'll automatically install the device with the default drivers.
details here

If there's a problem with your cartridge or cartridge ink level indicator, then you better clean the cartridge contact points and the contact points on the printer.
Good luck

No Windows 7 driver for Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX printer

There is a driver--it's provided by the Microsoft website. While your computer is connected to the Internet, connect your 785EPX to your computer via USB and then turn the printer on. The driver will auto download and install. I just did this on an HP DV7 laptop and the printer works fine, showing ink levels, too, though you have to access the printer properties to see this.

Ink levels

On Windows XP I could see the ink levels however now on Windows 7 there is no way to see ink levels or to clean the print heads. I have to use my iMac to see ink levels and clean the print heads.
