A full feature software and driver package for Windows 7 is not
available for your product. However, the Windows 7 operating system installed on your computer
contains a basic driver solution for your product.
With the basic driver, the buttons on the product might not function and
some of the advanced product features are not available. However,
using the workaround procedures in this document, you can still print
from a software.
The full feature software for your printer would be released around Jan 2010...once you install the full feature software for the printer, you would get back all the features as in XP.

This is most probably due to the fact, that you are using a driver built into Windows. It's a basic driver and doesn't include the print monitor or other fancy stuff.
You can go to epson.com, choose support & drivers, and find what's available there for your model.
