Hi there,

Ink cartridge Problem
Cause : The indicated ink cartridge(s) are missing or are damaged.

Solution : Replace the indicated ink cartridge(s) immediately so that you can resume printing. If there are no ink cartridges missing from the HP All-in-one, the ink cartridge contacts might need to be cleaned.

IF there is no ink cartridge missing from the HP All-in-One, and you still receive this message after cleaning the ink cartridge contacts, you might have a damaged ink cartridge. Replace the ink cartridge.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Drove myself crazy for 2 hours doing all this nonsense because my black XL would not work. Tried 4 different HP NEW carts. Looked at the little gold pins while cleaning the heads AGAIN and relaized one of the little gold pins was BENT! gently pushed it to match the others and IT WORKED!! I really hope this helps someone else.

SOURCE: ink cartridge problem! The following ink cartridges appear to be missing or damaged.

Solution :
1. clean the ink cartridge contacts both in the printer and the cartridge with a lint free cloth or a cotton swab. and try inserting the ink cartridges again. if it wont work proceed to step 2.
2. unplug the power cord at the back of the printer
3. press and hold # and 3 keys at the same time and plug the power cord back in. Do not release the two keys. wait until the printer would say "partial nvram reset" or anything that says "reset". if this still would not resolve the problem
4. do the same process as 2 & 3 but instead of # and 3 try # and 6. instead of saying "partial nvram reset" it should say "semi-full nvram reset". and if it would not work better go to an onsite technician. but if your printer if brand new return it to the retailer and exchange it. but before you do that try calling HP technician they would instruct you to the things i have given you. Just tell them what you have had done and asked them to replace the ink cartridges. This are the informations the agent would ask you about the ink cartridge
part number and also the expiration date.
try to ask for a replacement first if it would not resolve it. then go to a technician. I could not assure you that a technician could fix it because i have troubleshoot this kind of problems and there are alot of printer parts that needs to be fixed. Usually i suggest my clients to buy a new printer instead

SOURCE: I changed all the ink cartridges and my printer

Lift the top of the printer as if you are going to replace cartridges. When the print head comes into view you should see a grey lever on the right hand side. Lift it and reseat it. That worked for me!

SOURCE: not sensing the ink cartridge

In this scenario you should check with a new set of black cart or you can try by cleaning the cart with a lint free cloth. and try with resetting the printer as well. if it doesnt work then printer might have gone bad

Lexark X7350

If the contacts are different, then you may have bought a damaged cartridge, or just simply the wrong cartridge and this would explain why your printer cannot recognise the cartridge. Make sure you bought the same number Lexmark cartridge as the old one. Return it to the store as a damaged cartridge if it is the exact same cartridge. Lexmark would not change the design of a working cartridge to exclude customers from using a printer.
