Hello, My name Zoltan, and I have a Maytag

Your defrost element has failed in the freezer, ice has built up in the freezer cooling cores and air cant pass through them to the fridge, you need to defrost the unit totally and replace the elements, they are at the inside rear, behind the plate, also check your internal fan is running in the freezer, could be another fault. Things don't freeze on the top shelf right hand side of the door. Also have small amount of water that drips after freezer is opened. This is a manual defrost freezer 20 cu foot freezer

I would suspect the door seal is not making contact or has some defect in it. And that defect is probably in the top right corner of the door. If you have a thermomiter, wait until the compressor kicks in and then slowly run it around the door seal. There should be some area that is colder than the rest. If I am right, then you will need to replace the seal.

Quick upright defrosting

Good day,
The aerosols help. But, hurry up with any type of refrigeration equipment is many times a quick way to disaster.
Go slow and thorough. A little lost food is far better than a messed up machine.
Patience is your friend here.

This sounds like your defrost heating coil has gon bad. Not much you can do but replace it. Please leave a good thumbs up for me for the effort. Pretty sure I'm correct on this one. The Raz Shack

I have a maytag upright freezer. It is on the coldest setting. A bowl of water on the bottom shelf freezes overnight. The middle one is freezing, but not entirely. The top one is still water, but cold....

check to make sure door seals are touching the frame all round, could be an air leak, also make sure there is no ice build up around the inside casing. if so fully defrost unit, clean all vents/drain pipe, then turn back on and leave it for 24hrs (freezers work beast when full).....and door many times have you closed door after them????

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.
