Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I have a japanese 20g ps3, it was working fine, has plenty os space around it, has been off all day. When i powered it up tonight, it started to come up and then it shut itself off and the red light started flashing. what is this from?
This could be down to the need of more power from your plug as when i use my power convertor it needs to be on high rather then low otherwise teh console doesnt power up

Tips for a great answer:
Your PS3's problems are actually being caused by a connection error between the hard drive and motherboard. Without a correctly working hard drive connection your PS3 is unable to function and goes into shutdown mode, with the flashing red light warning.
So in order to fix the blinking red light on your PS3 you will need to repair the connection between the HDD and the motherboard. There is actually a rather simple way that you can do this yourself; while your PS3 console is switched off, locate the hard drive enclosure on the end of your console. Remove the plastic cover plate, then using a screwdriver unscrew the hard drive itself from its socket. Carefully remove it completely, then put it back in again. Tighten the holding screw, then restart your PS3
