The bulb has been changed, but the screen remains black with the green light blinking. How to you go about locating, checking and changing the thermal fuse?
I know this isn't the right field to enter this information, however I cant recall where that is. So I will state that as it turned out the lamp was the culprit. After buying the manual from http://www.ManualsParadise.com, [bad photos within the manual from Panasonic] and having a friend or a friend look over the particular pages referring to the thermistor AND looking at the lamp, we couldn't determine whether or not the bulb had blown or "fizzled out". As it ended up, thru Panasonic, I found a service technician that would come out to my home, and he was able to determine that it was indeed the lamp. Cost me $300 for the replacement lamp, and additional monies for labor. Not to mention my out of pocket for the service manual and the first tech coming out and looking it over.
Found that the thermistor/temp measuring device is suspect, no
resistance across legs. There is a label there that says F701 see
service manual

I went here for a tech manual for the Panasonic tv.
http://www.ManualsParadise.com
then ordered
Manufacturer: Panasonic
Part Description: FUSE
Part Number: LSJA0411-1
from PartStore.com
it was mounted to the case that holds the lamp. had to remove the back
panel, etc. Also think I had to splice in the fuse or something. was a
while ago.
i purchased a NTE8115 from my electronics supplier, closest I could find. Radio Green Light blinks, no picture, bulb new - 1.gif also has them.
remove the back cover and measure for continuity across the thermal fuse
above the lamp housing.
if open jump it wth a 5 amp fuse, be sure to close the safety switch with
the small blue lever then try to power on.
If comes on ok you will need to replace the entire ballast assembly to get
that fuse.
Panasonic does not have a part number for just the fuse on the PT40LC
series.
It is possible to cut off the fuse and replace with another but dont solder
must be crimped.

Essentially I am having the same symptoms. Power the set up, power light blinks green, I can hear the fan and can feel the cool air coming out of the vent, however the light never goes to solid green and the tv never comes on. Power the set off and normally the fan stays on long enough to cool the lamp down, however seeing as the lamp never goes "hot" the fan shuts off almost immediately.
green light blinks, but no picture, then yellow light blink,
replaced lamp 2 mo ago, for the third time. then all the sudden I walk back in the room and the green light is flashing and the screen is black. powered down, waited 10 min, powered up flashing green no video?
Hey there - I now have the same problem. The "change lamp" message has been coming on for several months, so I ordered a replacement bulb and figured I'd wait until the lamp actually burned out. Well it must have last night. When I turned the unit back on I got the blinking green LED and no picture. I replaced the lamp - found that the original's glass housing was cracked. But once assembled still have blinking green situation. Reading the posts here has been very helpful - I've now ordered the manual so that I can find the thermistor. Thanks to everyone that has posted information on this issue. Edelaf
