A frozen computer is an indication of least memory capacity. aslo, a frozen program during computer restoration is an indication that no hard drive exists in the motherboard on which programs would be loaded onto the desktop.
The computer is missing two parts
1. a hard drive storage
2. a disk driver on which programs would be downloaded on the computer

step 2 does BIOS work
power on, hot keys ESC, F9 F11.
does the BIOS message
"hit ESC key to enter HP setup" does this show up

step 3 if windows is corruptted
the F11 key reloads or run F11 restore, hit fix starter fills.
step 3, BIOS , go to the service page
run ram test.
then run HDD test.

if HDD fails, its bad, a bad drive.
Try resetting. From the manual, "if there are no reactions to any buttons, reset the wrist unit by pressing all the buttons simultaneously for two seconds. All other settings but time and date are saved."
Is it possible the watch block is not in correctly and the display is getting squished?
I searched high and low on the Internet and finally found a document that led me to believe it was WIFI problem. I reset (switched off and on) the WIFI receiver, and removed/replaced the battery in the remote control and hey presto. it worked and is still working.
I ran the recovery tool with my zen connected to the computer and it changed from being in a docked state to updating firmware, after it had done this it worked fine again.
