Your toner cartridge may be the culprit.
Take the cartridge out and shake sideways and up/down. Reinstall it and try again.
If it's still printing faded side, replace the cartridge.
It's possible that this could also be down to a toner cartridge inside the printer. I would recommend running off a copy of the colour laser test page found here.
The colour bars towards the bottom of the page separate cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Hopefully you will be able to notice that one colour is affected more than the others and replacing that colour may help.
Apologies if you have tried anything similar previously.
please you used the colour printer ? if yes then your check the csrtridge a refeling the towner and service the cartridge and service in printer and aply the print is ok.
When you say "Cleaned the lens" I presume you mean the four LED print heads. Use a spirit to clean them with if the toner dust is hard to remove. I usually just use a finger and wipe the entire length. Make sure there is no foreign item laying on the drum top where the black plastic film is as the led head may not seat properly on it. Clean all the silver high voltage springs down the left side of the printer. They make contact with the drums. If you still have a problem then try printing solid colour blocks ie Yellow, Magenta ,Cyan and Black . This will identify which colour is giving the problem . Change that drum and all should be well.
Dear Martin Luke, Take a look at the posts on "black ink problem" on this site. There are 9 offers of solution.
Many of us with this defectively-designed model have the same problem. Some say the answer is to do with button pressing, but action may need to be more radical and messy, and involves forcing the blockage out of the ink feeder tube etc.
Samsung CLP-300 color laser leaves 3-4 lines of various shades of black in middle of paper. Otherwise everything is great. Posssible black toner cartridge problem?
