42pf7321d/37 phillips plasma tv

" "
when i turn the tv on i see on the left lower side below the espeaker a green led going on and then the tv makes a sound as if it was shutting off by itself and then i see a red led blinking 4 times every five seconds on the left lower side.
No picture, no sound .
i did some research on the internet and on phillips web site i found a update for the tv's software, this software is supposed to fix this kind of problem, after i finished whith the update the green led would stay on when i turn the tv on but still i have no sound or picture.

- I openned the back cover and i can see there is a little board snatnd upright on the mainboard where it says "ALARM SIGNAL" and it flashes 3 times every 2 seconds, in front of this little board it says:
1:VA
2:12V
3:VSCAN
4:D3V3
5:VS
6:VCC
7:VSET
8:VE
10:PFC
11:OVP
13:D5VL
I guess the problem would be the #3, i also checked all the fuses inside, i don't know much about these things therefore i don't know exactly what the Y sustain board and Yscan lower board, it looks to me like the problem would be more software than hardware but then again i don't know, thanks for the help so far and thanks for any further help you guys can provide.
This is the only place where i got at least one answer, PHILLIPS didn't even want to stay on the phone with me because is out of warranty, the tv is only 15 months old phillips had a 1 year warranty.

Same Problem

-   I have a Philips 42PF7321D/37 model 42" plasma TV that just shut off on me a week ago. When it shut off, the green LED power indication light turned red and blinks 4 times. I saw on a post here a list of fault codes, mine corresponds to the D3V3, although, I do not know what that is. Nor do I know where to source parts... I'd prefer to get the parts and make the repairs myself. I work at a research center and I'm pretty handy with electronics, but without any info I'm stuck. I'd rather not pay the local repair shop that Philips refered me to the ~$400 - $500 that they guessed it would cost... On a two year old plasma...

Any help is appriciated...-   greg_catlin

Open the back cover and disconnect the Vs power supply to the Y Sustain Board.
1. Check Vs voltage on the Power Supply Board when you turn on the TV. If Vs is not there, then replace the Power Supply Board.
2. If Vs voltage is normal on Power Supply Board, then replace the Y Sus Board + Y Scan Up & Y Scan Lower Board.

They provided some excellent info. I had the same thing except 7 blinks and it was the power supply board. Let me give you something to check. Check the 4.7 ohm white box resistors that are in series and see if one of those are burnt out. It is near the 2 black boxed relays. If so the power supply board is definitely an issue.

i am familiar with this power supply in philips models. this fault code on the psu refers to a fault within Vscan circuitry. you will be unable to check correct voltages as the set is in protection mode.

you can disconnect the Y-Sus board(to the left of the psu) and if the led stops flashing you can almost guarantee the Y-Sus pcb is faulty!

Hello andy

You mentioned your familiar with this board. my flashing stops when the Xsus is disconnected while leaving call other connections intact to the PSU. would this mean that the Xsus is bad?
