Question about JVC KD-AVX2 Car DVD Player
I just installed my new avx2 today and after everything was done, the display will not stay powered on (no display and no button control) unless I push on the faceplate a bit.. this is VERY frustrating as I depend on my car stereo for entertainment on long drives I have many times each week. I have pulled the unit out, checked it all over, and put it back in several times and it still does this.. The sound works fine, I just have no display unless I put some pressure on the faceplate. I have tried wedging something under it to hold the pressure there but it turns on and off when I drive. seems like the face mechanism is a bit flimsy.. this is very dissapointing because I had high hopes for this head unit. regardless, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. thanks!
Three possible faults. Irst choice would be connector on radio you see when faceplate is removed may have some oxidation on pins. Sometimes with a small fine point file or dental pick you can try to scrape off any visible oxidation use caution not to bend any pins and be sure radio has no power . 2nd choice could be worn flex cable that connects to main p.c.b. and Third is chassis that keyboard connects to may be slightly bent causing a bad connection. I have a PDF service manual if you need it firstname.lastname@example.org
